Kink in Media

I’m a horror author, and I tend to ad kinks to my manuscripts. But there are definitely kinks that are underrepresented in media, even today. What do you think are kinks that could use a little love and representation in media today?

It’s funny I just sat here and thought for minutes about underrepresented kinks and everything I came up with I came up with has examples.

I’m in the middle of writing an erotic epic utilizing every kink I can think of or have heard of and I’m just short of 700 pages. The thing I most enjoyed writing was ***, and objectification. I really got to exorcise some demons on that.

I’m finding them sneaking into crime novels nowadays. Obv some authors with an interest as there will be random discoveries of items which are kink orientated in forensic searches, that spark discussions between police officers in the story, where one is educating others about what they’re used for and what the scene is like.

However reading one at the moment and the victim has a playroom set up. And it’s being treated very much as a thing of shame and an underground scene, not part of day to day life.

I think what needs to be depicted more is the way that kink is such a common part of day to day life. On a basic level, pegging…. The proportion of men that want to try it/enjoy it/ have it regularly in their life compared to how much it is discussed. It’s like best kept secret. Men in marriage being pegged by wives and wearing cages. It’s really not the minority thing that the older generations think. I’d love it to be recognised as just playful sex, which it is. It’s a sexual activity, not a think of shame.

Voyeur is rare to come across but I did finished reading the Lights Out series that has it and was very very good. One I haven’t come across much at all is a detailed roping. I’m sure you’re looking for more unexpressed kinks but that’s just my thoughts. 💚
