Do you think it’s weird to ask for a specific photo to verify that the person your messaging matches their profile pictures?
I have gotten to the point with two women that I was ready or had sent risky photos or videos but when I asked for a photo to vet them, they have thought it was weird and wouldn’t send it. Both of them already had photos on their profile showing their face and I’m not asking for anything sexual (a selfie holding up three fingers).
I’m not sure if this is a weird or unusual request or if the only two conversations that made it to this point have both been fake profiles. Thoughts???

I think that’s fair, I do ask that. Actually, most of the times fake resist verifying or sent more fake pictures.

Ive done this often, I think its pretty safe practice to make sure the person youre talking to is real. Ive been asked to do this on one or two occasions and done it happily. If someone doesnt it makes me wonder what they might be hiding

It’s not weird at all, I think making sure you are really talking to the person you think you are is probably the best thing before going into anything other then chat. And it also eliminates people with false motives.

I do it all the time, when they refuse I interpret it as a major red flag and usually can conclude they aren’t who they say they are.

I do that all the time, It's not weird at all. Nobody should have their time wasted.If they can't do it, they're not real. I know there are lots of fake profiles. You've got to vet them somehow. And like you said a thumbs up or three fingers is an easy picture to take. If they want to do their hair and makeup first then so be it, but they need to put up or shut up.

It’s not weird at all. It’s very common practice on regular/traditional dating apps. I get asked to do it on here all the time and I happily oblige. If someone isn’t willing to share a pic to verify they are real that tells me everything I need to know. I’d say move on and find the dozens and dozens of other men who are willing to put your mind at ease.

Not weird at all!!!! That’s part of the process…. If after a certain amount of time someone can’t share that type of photo, that is sfw even!! I’d be onto the next…. Red flag ….. Especially if you’re about to proceed or be *** with them in a dynamic type setting

Not at all! There are so many fakes out there. If it makes you feels safe and secure do it. I would think twice if asked.

If they are requesting photos, you too should be allowed to ask for verification without being demanding. In my opinion, if they won't share beyond profile pictures, they are probably fake.

My current sub put a shoe on her head to prove she was real, playfully of course. I end up doing the same with my boot in the middle of an airport. Nothing wrong with this. If anything it helped build what would be our relationship because our sense of humor clearly lined up and we both felt more secure.

its not weird, there are scammers who use onlyfan/tik tok/ etc photos. recently had one myself, reverse image search is your friend

I, too, have asked for this type of verification photo in the past. Ask to make a goofy face and touch their nose or specific ear. The cat fishers may have a photo with a goofy face, but not while pulling a left earlobe. The advances in AI generation is going to make even video chats suspect 🙄 Had a presentation done "live" that was later announced to have been made by feeding the AI a script and 10 second video of the presenter. Only a lack of background breathing and shuffling indicated it wasn't a real person.

no, it's usually the fake profiles that "find it weird" and want to gaslight you into believing it's an unreasonable request.
keep asking people to verify themselves for you, best with some silly unusual pose
