ho**** Posted October 29 Has anyone installed a sex swing at home, I had one at my last place and I’m considering installing one at my new place. Last house was older and more sturdy, had a lot of fun with the swing there.
Ki**** Posted October 29 I have a sex swing. It's not hanging from the ceiling, but has a very sturdy stand. Works very well.
Do**** Posted October 29 I have a spare bedroom I'm considering putting one in. Im actually planning on making it a mini dungeon, actually. 😈😁
ho**** Posted October 29 Author In my last place I drilled through the ceiling into a joist. Had an eye bolt than I could clip the swing too.
Ot**** Posted October 29 I have one but I use it with the tetruss rig that I use for suspension as well. My old house has lathe and plaster walls so I’m not planning on damaging those to install any anchors.
Sw**** Posted October 29 I have a friend who has hooks in her bedroom ceiling for her and her husbands sex swing that are covered by dummy smoke detectors when not in use
Si**** Posted October 29 Yup! Make sure you locate a joist & pre-drill a hole about half the diameter of the provided eye hook. If you must go between 2 joists/rafters then I highly suggest mounting a 4x4 piece of lumber between the joists, be sure to use lag bolts to mount the 4x4 that are at least 4 inches long to account for going through the joists & get a good healthy bite into the 4x4
Ad**** Posted October 29 The smoke detectors is a nice trick. I have a ceiling hook in a joist that I hide it's real purpose by hanging a punching bag on it. 👍
mc**** Posted October 29 as long as the rider doesn't break the 200 pound mark, you shouldn't need any additional rein***ment or support unless you just go absolutely ape shit on this thing all the time. with regular use as long as you pre-drill the holes for the hooks so you dont split or damage the ceiling joist it should be just fine. if your concerned run a 2x4 across the existing joist and anchor it into a few of the joist. buy some hooks or eye bolts with a 6 inch shank. then drill holes in the drywall below the 2x4 that you installed and run your eye bolts threw the drywall in between the joists and into the 2x4 that you put in. if you're mechanically inclined you can install a rig that raises and lowers the 2x4 as you want to use it and you could use a mock recessed light or smoke detector on spring hinges to cover the hole/ holes when not in use. you could install a dimmer switch to control it or use a remote. secret sexy time at the push of a button. lol if you're not building secret sex stuff into your house, you're not having any fun!!
ho**** Posted October 30 Author My new place is a new build. My old place I ran a thick beam across the joists to spread the weight.
Se**** Posted October 30 Just make sure you secure it. And when I say secure, I mean make sure it is not going anywhere. SECURE it. A friend of mine had one installed, and whoever put it up didn't do a very good job because one day when he was practicing some yoga, the spring was at full extension, and it came loose from the joists due to improper fastening. My friend needed quite a bit of facial reconstructive surgery, and there are teeth marks in the bar, left by the for*e of the impact to his jaw. Not the prettiest picture to p*int, but double and triple checking the structural integrity of its installation isn't necessarily the worst idea. Have fun!
