What ropes do you use and prefer?

I use jute for majority of my rope work but do have a couple hundred metres of softer cotton aswell

What thickness rope do you use for what then?

6mm jute for pretty much everything .cotton is 8mm I'd only really get that out if it was for a complete beginner
