Wearing woman’s clothes is something I’ve gotten into (and enjoy) but I haven’t been able to find a good source for converting men’s sizes to women’s sizes, so some of the clothes I buy is just a little too big or small. Any recommendations for how to look for good-fitting clothes?

Measure yourself against the size guiding ☺

Women's clothes are not standard. I've been a diva queen for decades. Thrift stores. Try on different brands till you get a feel for the cut. Context: Classically trained habidasher. Hated it.

Sizing guides are great, but also sometimes it’s just kind of random, I’ve seen larges that are large and larges that are extraaaa small

I wish it was standard, but the same size in the same brand can fit differently. I would look for a tailor that could personally alter or even mail back and forth. When I was in high school, mom had my jeans altered because I was short and she hated dragging boot cut jeans. It made cheap jeans look nicer.

The struggle is real. There's no 100% sure way to know how somethings gonna fit till you try it on. For this reason I've actually taken a liking to skirts and dresses. Pretty easy to eyeball whether or not they fill you. The skirts with the stretchy wastes are good cuz a smaller size will still fit fine. And they just look cute as hell with a pair of black leggings and converse.

With me I wear a large in mens but in womens its XL or 14-16. I have had to try on a few in stores to get it narrowed down to them. 95% they fit right but the g-string that comes with them are usually too big for my liking. Maybe this will help you in your search. Oh that is also with me wearing it normally and having my 36DD breast plate on.

A lot of brands sizes are inconsistent tbh, however there are charts online that allow you to take your measurements and tell you what size you are more or less

I agree with thrift stores. Frederick of Hollywood has the sexy stuff. I always shop at Kohls for 1 style of jeans that always fit. Once you find a good fit, shop the label. Amazon has a wide variety.

woman here, try looking up romwe on vinted because they have a rather size inclusive range :) plus they have a plus sized range as well

When my daughter told me she is trans I used a measuring tape. She is much smaller than I am but I used my size as a starting point. We hit up thrift stores and I told her once we found her fit and style we would go shopping. That was six years ago and now she buys her own stuff

So it helps to know the number size vecause a 36" is normally universal hip measurement wise. They have sizing measuring tapes available
