I know where yesterday’s was….. but does that mean it’s too late, and I cannot get any past ones if it’s after a certain EST time

On the app the icons are a circle shape and have a small image inside them and they are overlapped on the screen.  On the website V1 they are square in shape, on V2 they are also a circle shape.

Once an icon has been released, you can collect during the course of the game. So if you miss a day, you can always go back and find  it.
