How AI is blurring our reality, are our kinks even real anymore, or are we just talking to bots?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how much this community has changed lately, especially with the explosion of AI. As a Sadist, a huge part of the lifestyle for me is the psychological connection, the reading of the other person, and the absolute certainty of intent.

But lately, it feels like the line between what’s real and what’s artificial is completely gone. It’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference between actual human desire and a well generated prompt.

It makes you question everything. Are these submissives actually feeling these intense, deep rooted desires, or are we just reading a script generated by chat gpt? When someone sends a perfectly crafted, incredibly detailed description of their limits, their submission, and their dark fantasies, I used to find it hot.

Now i just find myself wondering if the person on the other side of the screen is actually just some clueless guy using AI to fake a persona and tell me exactly what they think I want to hear.

This technology is completely messing with the authenticity of our kinks. If an AI can write a flawless, deeply psychological scene or a confession of submission, does the person copy pasting it actually understand the weight of it? Or are they just hiding behind a screen, using a machine to mimic a lifestyle they don't actually live or respect? It creates this massive cloud of doubt.

You can’t trust the vibe anymore because the vibe can be coded.

We used to look for red flags in typos, bad grammar, or weird phrasing, but now the fakes sound more articulate than the real people. It ruins the trust that a D/s dynamic literally depends on.

I’m tired of wondering if I’m connecting with a real human mind or just a machine designed to simulate one. If you can't even be authentic about your darkest, most personal desires on a kink site, then what are we even doing here?

Right. That and the damage it's doing to the environment because some people can't think for themselves. I've gotten messages from people using AI filtered profile photos. And I find myself questioning if that person is even real. 😅

I sometimes wonder if I fall under this. Im well read, so being well stated, esp in the written form, is important to me. And I friggin hate AI.

The other end is the people who completely ignore my well written boundaries and just try to do what they want anyway

AI may be blurring our reality but doesn't it provide you with opportunity to hone your deductive skills? I mean I think being able to decipher the other person is pretty important for a Dom. Doesn't it make you feel more powerful to be able to tell when it's real compared with AI-written?

Honestly the level of AI depends on the person holding the reins if the person has no real understanding of what it means to be submissive or in this lifestyle in general then the bot doesn’t either. so chances are if you really can’t tell the difference then the person is actually a person the other chance is that someone doesn’t know how to articulate what they want to say properly and use AI for what it’s meant for. But too i’ve ran into a lot of people who claim to be things and when it comes down to it they don’t they just like having control so i’m always on the cautious side of things

Only way to handle it right and save the honor of kink is to shut off the computers and phone go back to communicating face to face or writing form is the only way to save it for a little longer cause ultimately it's all a lost cause. It's Never Getting Better....

Great points dude. It also doesn't help that a lot of the old guard of kink were, frankly, assholes gatekeeping locations where it could be explored safely. So more and more people started going to online spaces and hook up culture, which had its own benefits and negatives.

I had to take a break from kink, about 10 years, and the differences between then and now are INSANE. The munches are hidden, the events are walled off, and playspaces are underground in South Carolina, compared to the openness of where I come from in Tampa Bay.

So I think we all agree that FET management should issue a new law to ban any accounts that use AI in their images, in writing bios, or in any posts I think this is easy in light of the advanced technology that exists now if there are some fake people hiding behind AI, let's unmask them as well using AI !!

I guess it depends on who's using Ai and how exactly.. It can really help you understand yourself better and reflect on some things, if prompted properly... But if one is not up to self reflection and use ia texts just like copy past, I got a question it they're capable to analyze and reflect at all... Anybody I connect with has to be able to hold a real conversation. Additionally, they are skipped if their images are all AI doctored images, show me those natural defects that everyone has... and for the love of a random deity, stop using filters that change your eyes. It is not even you at that point.

This is a massive barrier, especially for those of us who are hearing impaired (me) and rely entirely on text to gauge a person's mind. Since voice calls aren't an option for me, losing text authenticity means losing my first line safety filter. I've had to adapt by looking for 'the gloss.' AI is too polite, too balanced, and too structured. Now, I vet by looking for human messiness or sudden pivots in conversation, typos from texting too fast or formatting quirks. If someone sounds like a perfectly edited book 100% of the time, I immediately start asking for hyper-specific, real-time photo verification or local niche details to break the script.

Hearing detail, descriptions of someone kinks can be very hot, but after one realized that I think kinks are better when they’re shared by both parties and understood by both parties so personally, I prefer to discuss those with someone of interest rather than posting them for the world to see.

it's interesting also that there are folk who use AI to help their wording and tone.  Or to help their grammar. A lot of people who are dyslexic or have other traits use it as a tool.  However it is still AI and it does auto switch a lot of brains to "this is AI" which raises a lot of suspicions

Exactly. For me neither English nor Spanish are not native langues, I'm trilingue but a bit of a grammar nerd, i just don't like writing with errors haha... so if it's a description text I'd rather check it with Ai, at least to avoid misunderstandings... Obviously it's not necessary for daily communication but still, if it's some complicated thought or emotion I want to explain to smbd I'd prefer the help of ai assistant...

Your last line sums up the biggest problem with this site.
If we get pinged every time we are real and the words we use censored, posts deleted and policed (probably by AI that doesn't even understand the intent) then the very premise is false.

The rest though is only relevant if your kink is all online. But then if you are wanking to a screen it doesn't really matter, does it?

You know if another person is real or not when they are right in front of you.
