If you’re looking for some fetish fuck fun but time's short and you fancy a change from the clubs, internet dating is a great option. So, in our series of fetish dating website reviews, Fetish.com checks out Fetish Connection. But will this fetish website help you get laid or even find a date?

In writing this review of the BDSM dating site Fetish Connection, I expected to find an active community and the ability to chat with people who know what they wanted and are curious about what you want.

Indeed, instead of hiding your fetish secret from a potential date, it's better to hook up with a kinky person who’ll encourage you to nurture it.

Unfortunately, not all fetish dating sites are well-maintained communities and predatory members can make it feel like a seedy afterhours drinking club.

Fetish Connection is a prime example of this. The homepage looks like it was thrown together in one afternoon with little thought as to what might interest a user and a new or established member of the BDSM community.

The sign-up process

The sign up process takes you through some basic lifestyle questions and asks you to explain ‘What sets you apart from the crowd’. After completing the form, you're immediately taken to the site and greeted with a pop-up offering a free icebreaker.

These chat messages enable you to contact many members simultaneously and are usually chargeable, so it’s worth a shot. Clicking through that section, you’re shown the benefits of their free premium membership which include messaging, chat, invisibility mode and two- hour support.

You can pad out your dating profile with huge amounts of personal details such as your salary, life goals, religious leanings and, naturally, your BDSM preferences.

On most free fetish dating websites, advertising is omnipresent. What makes it extra intrusive at Fetish Connection is that it’s camouflaged as something you want.

Click on an interesting picture of a canoodling BDSM couple and you’re whizzed off to another homepage asking for payment to enter. Disguising ads as real content is a major turnoff; it’s misleading and leaves users feeling duped.

Fetish Connection: where are the real users?

The difference between male and female membership is vast. Like so many kinky lifestyle dating sites, an army of professional dominatrix’s and escorts with studio-quality profile shots are in residence, and all that’s missing is a pricelist.

Genuine female profiles do exist, it’s just the pictures are less polished, they don’t describe themselves as ‘fantasy ladies’ and there are fewer of them.

Fetish Connection
Sadly, on Fetish Connection many members have not bothered to even upload a profile picture

Men tend to use average head and chest shots, or ‘Ask me for a photo’ which translates as ‘I can’t be bothered’ or ‘I’m just looking’. Many haven’t filled in any personal details either, so you need to ask for them as well.

Offering no picture or information about your lifestyle and fetish preferences seems absurd. Unless you’re just there to lurk, it defeats the object of having a profile.

From the homepage you can chat, use the Tinder-esque Rapid Match feature to ‘like’ or ‘pass’ on other members, or click to one of the other search bar options. The Search feature gives you access to a wider community, allowing you to be more specific about what you’re looking for and save the criteria for future use.

Next along is Who’s Online, it’s self-explanatory but worth mentioning that this automatically gives preference to people who are online and match your search criteria.

Spirit crushing

Live Cam is another entry in the search bar but disappointingly there are none, just a lengthy series of re-directs until you reach a long page of cam girls clamouring for your money.

Finally, there’s My Profile, for viewing your public page, Settings, where you can amend your details and My Inbox, for mail. Sadly, most messages tend to be copy and paste jobs from girls in Florida telling you they’re horny and giving you a URL. The brief welcome email is from an admin called Davie, also in Florida, his profile pic reads ‘Ask Me for my Picture’ which says it all really: no one here has their heart in it.

kinky-dating-reviews-fetishconnection-com-3.jpgThe BDSM community is sadly missing at Fetish Connection

For the sake of this Fetish Connection review, visiting the site is quite a spirit crushing experience. Fetish Connection is badly put together, highly monetised and patchy.

Any BDSM community spirit is non-existent and the hidden ads will soon drive you round the bend... or to a better site! Unless you’re looking for some pay-per-view action with a qualified dominatrix who uses the site as a marketing tool, Fetish Connection is unlikely to do it for you.
