I got a reply through the penalty system. Odd choice. It said be patient until we find out if it's a bug or a feature.

The change from 5 to 1 point per image like is not a bug – it’s a feature. This was a product-level decision.
We understand this may raise questions, but we kindly ask you to accept it as a business decision.
In parallel, other Read more… changes have been introduced to give you more – and more frequent – opportunities to earn Community Points. For example, this year already features more frequent Treasure Hunts.
