What are some ways that kink has changed your life or your perspectives?

My journey into my kink awareness started over 30 years ago (longer than that if you account for the time I knew I was "different" sexually but didn't understand it) and in that time the effects it have had have meandered and evolved.
.
To begin with it was a case of greater self-awareness and understanding, as time went on my knowledge grew and I started to get to know others in the community, though circumstance and other factors meant it was all mostly suppressed.
.
Fast forward to about 18 months ago, when I first started attending a local Munch regularly and through that widened my circle of friends and started attending local kink clubs and events to the point that kink is now a major part of my life that has seen my friendship circle increase hugely and not just in a kink way.
.
What I have learned from all this is the wonder that is the openness and honesty that *can* be found in kink circles, and how refreshing that can be to be able to express yourself without *** of judgement or shaming. How just because you have kinks, you can have like minded friends too and so very much more besides.

Kink helped open my mind to the world of possibilities and different variations relationships can take. Friends, mentors, lovers, educators, soul mates, ships passing in the night. It's amazing experiencing how we all get to experience life differently with each other.

Kink has opened my eyes to a whole different way of living. Key word living. I cant imagine not having kink in my life.

I have been involved in it for 40 years. What it has taught me is the value of being a beautiful memory instead of a hateful reminder.

It made me realize that I was sexually frustrated and that sex is an important part of my life and not to ignore my needs if I am getting romantically involved with someone as it will to more frustration.

Absolutely it’s made me love men more. I let my true feminine self come out.

I have learned that I don't have to be sca red to say no. In fact, anyone who doesn't listen to me when I say no is a huge red flag.

 

I have also learned that I'm a sadist and there is nothing wrong with that.

Kink has helped me heal childhood trauma that therapy for years couldn't.
Growing up . My house . Was not a great or safe vl.
