When you gift an icon, the system will randomly gift away one from what you have collected so far.  Work out which one has been gifted and then return to its original hiding spot and it will be there waiting for you to recollect again.  If you are doing lots of gifting, it helps to keep yourself a grid map/clue list, so you can work out which ones have been gifted and it will help you find them again. 😊
