Massive influx of fake accounts

I’ve noticed a lot that like or crush me are gone with in a couple days

to a degree it suggests the process is working - that these accounts are being cleared out.

I have also noticed that most of the fake or scammer accounts have almost no info. Usually only 1 photo and almost never has anything kink related in their profile. I have gotten emails form about 5 of them over the past week or so.

6 out of 8 of my most recent visitors were blocked by the system.
It would be nice if those accounts were disabled until they correct what ever got them blocked, if they do correct it.

Seems most of what I’ve seen is not verified. Of course it’s not the person in the picture.

What makes me laugh is they have one photo and when you wave or spank they want you to use points. Just stupid

The point is, we know the site is limited on personnel, they are literally doing their best and in my opinion a ***y good job in the circumstances.  It's pointless complaining,  yes it's infuriating,  but things are getting done in the background.   What we all and I mean ALL can do is learn to spot the tell tail signs, and report.   Every little helps.   We as users can be at fault, because we do not or feruse to think that the ever so gorgeous Domme or Dom that express an interest is "the one"  sorry to be the guy that urinates on your desires, but even vanilla dating sites get the same, fakes rely on bypassing our common sense.   Rule of thumb guys, if its to genuine, give it time or the middle finger.    Learn to spot the signs and act with your brain not emotion.

I think one thing which gets me.  Is when folk complain they got viewed, spanked, or a message - and the checked the profile and the profile has been removed by the site.  Like, OK - why complain on that? That is the EXACT THING they said they wanted people to do.  The system has obviously identified and confirmed a fake/scam/***-request/whatever and removed the profile.    The only way this could have been better is if they'd identified before a message was even sent, but sometimes something is needed as proof

@smeagol If people would do the very minimum of educating themselves the signs are really pretty obvious.

@eyemblacksheep I really and truly do not understand why so many people take someone simply looking at/visiting their profile as anything other than... someone looked at your profile, there is no other significant meaning to it. It can be pretty off-putting when someone jumps into the DMs behaving as if a visit is some sort of definitive sign of something.

there's a little bit I kinda appreciate in the sense that there's lots of people whose profile I've looked at where maybe I am interested, but for whatever reason didn't message - lots of reasons. But I take people looking at my profile as one of many things - that they're browsing, saw my profile and then weren't interested (fair) that I'd said or done something interesting and they wanted to know more about me (fair - I've done the same) and kinda... I'm sure there are those who've looked and are interested but didn't message, but happen in most cases if they were interested they would message... or... would in the future.

I think maybe there is a lazy form of icebreaker, although I do think "you looked at my profile - hiiii" isn't the flex folk think

Oooh! I've missed the Forums for a while, should have dropped in as this one is right up my street. For ThaliaV, there is the extremely well known newbie pile on. Trying to get something going before the others get in on the act. For paying members, we get our own Newcomers Browse and in the past, were the only folks allowed to contact new profiles for the first 48 hours of their existence.
Now very recently, they have changed things up. For ladies only, new profiles are automatically given message and Comments filters which reduces the pile on significantly.
As for the scammers... I must have turned in well over several hundred in the past year. There was a phase where 30 new accounts were being set up in very short order, daily,  in the US. All 30 something, all Chinese, all seemingly permanently online, all Friends/LTR and very bland bios. It's started in the UK quite recently as well.
One thing... the Bing photo search offered is utterly useless. 0 finds very frequently whereas Google will find 100+ across multiple platforms.

Unfortunatley, telling everyone what to look out for is an opportunity for the scammers to learn their faults and up their game.
But the obvious things, already mentioned are... brand new profile, 'visting' everyone online (don't forget, they have almost zero icebreakers, are not going to pay for membership and can't be bothered to fill out their profiles to earn extra icebreakers...so visits and spanks it is). Then the English and phrases used. Won't list them but they are instant red flags that you'll soon recognise and the cast iron marker... after a maximum of 5 anodyne exchanges.... can we move elsewhere?

Unfortunately there are a lot of lonely and v*lnerable people in this world, so when a 'heavenly creature' shows a serious interest in them they get taken in and burnt. Often newcomers themselves unaware of the pitfalls.

Something is always needed as proof. But nothing at all is proof too.

Why are you telling me all this as if I don't know it?

Also, I didn't say anything about what to look for to avoid scammers. I was talking about if people educated themselves on the basics of bdsm and the etiquette that goes along with it, it's pretty obvious who is and isn't genuine.

I have my own additional new test, and use potato, I use elsewhere also as I am usually talking with women or ladies or they lead me to believe they are, using your brain, they might be actually men getting off, posing as another gender or genderfluid, so be alert,

I just ask sometimes when my antenna feel there are red flags 🚩 hiding just this:

“Would you care or like to go out for dinner ? “

Depending on responses, I take it from there, and yes I have been to dinner more than once ! lol 😂
So I've been wondering who the people are behind these profiles? Are they scam farms? Teams of people running 24/7? Are they individuals trying to make a bit of ***?
I used to get profiles who after few messages outside of the app would ask for tributes in the form of gift cards. They would disappear once the gifts were received. I would enjoy making up all sorts of excuses why the card hasn't reached them, enjoying wasting their time
More recently it seems to be Asian female presenting profiles who are willing to talk for many days even weeks on WhatsApp making various excuses to not meet but not asking for anything. slowly mentioning they do crypto investments and wondering if you would be interested in such a thing. They often say they own make up stores or cosmetic companies in European cities.
Anyway, I'm fascinated by the reality behind these facades. Are there any documentary investigations Into online scammers?

truth of the matter is there are different people with different motivations

A large group may not be necessarily running a scam but still be against the site rules - for example if they are offering any form of paid session : which could include "pay me, and we can chat all you like" or any form of online findom

there have been waves of those when someone on somewhere like tiktok will recommend it as a good earner; even if it's not, cos it's against site rules

But in general, while some are individuals experimenting with different grifts - there's a lot of different layers to it and in a lot of cases it's people who are buying guides on how to bait people.  Often these are based in poorer countries, because netting $100-$200 may very well be a months wage, so netting just one person per month can be enough

oh absolutely.

The thing is... like, this is where some women have the right idea.   Get a message that is hi, looks like a copy paste, looks like someone is following a guide - just ignore (with or without hitting ignore) and/or adding mailbox filters.

Men on the other hand, reply everything "just in case"

and even those who realise it's someone reading a script and engage with them to mess them about or waste their time... gets added to a list which means MORE people contact them, questioning whose time is being wasted.

Everyone always request profile verification if you're feeling SUS about someone!! I personally would request it for any and all unverified accounts. Even if they're real and even if there's no probable cause, there shouldn't be a problem if they are real. It's not hard a hard process and if they really wanna stay on this application they will do it. I was reported my first week lol. I looked fake ig but I'm glad to have my profile authenticated. Verify yourself too !! It's best. Don't let them waste your time or steal private photos/info by trusting a picture ONLINE, it's a dangerous place. If you are too lazy to report them then atleast get them on a video call with they're face in the shot.

So many the profiles in my messages turn to deleted accounts and I just had to encourage you to protect yourself❤️

One thing that bugs the hell out of me, which I've reported to Support several times, is that accounts that this site's admins have blocked still appear! WHY?!?! Why are my feeds cluttered with accounts that I can't contact? What is the point? Why do blocked accounts show up at all?
