I'm looking at attending a BDSM party over the weekend as part of my dipping my toe into the enviorment.
Got a tour of the place, been to some discussion groups (consent, impact, sensuality, etc).

But while I was thinking about it, I realize I have either professional IT / general business man clothes or t-shirt and jeans. As a 50 yr man, but with army time and old cbt boot, I keep wondering what the f to where.

Harness seems a little early (or I think would look bad on me), so I'm wondering what other options I should be looking at.

If in doubt, all black. Failing that, a suit. Images from previous events, the venue's website, previous guests and/or asking the organisers should provide a list of options from which to choose.

Wear what's comfortable to you. I help run a dungeon, 9 times out of 10, I'll show up in jeans and a t-shirt. This doesn't apply on theme night events though.

Check out the website as I’ve seen some say if you turn up in street clothes they’ll put a humiliating tshirt on you or block entry. Also you could email them to ask what subs / Doms wear to the night you’re considering attending. See what they say.

TL;DR, the perfect tie for a scene (RP)

The night was slow as the event prior (3 hr striptease show) had mostly people heading home. I forgot to get tickets soon enough, so only went to the after party. (Some amazing fireplay and rope suspension was going on)

In the end, I showed up with black collar shirt, dark dress pants and dress shoes. Went looking for thin bright red tie, couldn't find one at a thrift store, but got something better.

Was thinking about what I could offer in the play space, and remembered some of the army restraints for prisoners, manhandling them to also assert dominance and control. And because it was a dungeon, maybe some light stress positions, cable ties and sensory deprivation (blind folding). Worked up this whole scenario in my head, that could be either a trainer preparing a student for her mission should she be captured, or a more sadistic interrigator who already know the information they were trying to extract, but was a mind F.

So why was the tie important?
One of the units I worked with had a red sash worn with dress uniforms at a certain rank, the next rank up got a much darker red. The reason is this, the red sash signified a ***ying in battle. Upon reaching this rank, was most likely. The sash got darker at the next rank, because they continued to get ***y, and some of the *** has dried.

The tie I found was slightly red with almost a black/brown undertone, with a simple shine that can make it pop ever so slightly against a dark shirt (single colour with no designs). This tie I now associate in my head with BDSM, and I'm looking forward to describing its meaning to play partners in the future.

Hoping to find someone at one of these parties who would find it hot if I told them that. story/meaning, and then used it to gag them. Shared the above with someone and I could see them light up, but it was end of the evening and I'm pretty sure she wasn't looking for play just then (and nor was I either).

Guess I'm going to have to keep going to parties and munches. I have a feeling I'll find any excuse to keep wearing the tie.
