Feeding your flights of fantasy?

How much does pop and your social culture feed into your flights of fantasy?

We are all products of our environment after all, we are influenced by everything around us. If you claim that you are the exception to this then I would suggest that you are mistaken.

But does your mind wander, through distraction, into worlds and situations that pique your desires from the world around you?

As an example I include the obvious Star Wars one, since I'm an unashamed fan being but 8 when it first appeared, of that gold bikini and some delightful lady within it. Weirdly this hasn't really been one of mine.

But what from pop or social culture has set you off into fantasy land?

We had a chat and decided that we have lived through the most exciting period in history. Music, literature, film have been awesome over the past 40 years … our only agreed observation was kink is becoming mainstream now … in time no one will need to hide their dubious pleasure trigger in the closet !
Yes from the music I listen to and the TV I watch and even some for the hobbies I have .

I am in absolute agreement with respect to the last forty years or so have been exceedingly awesome. But I'm 56 so I would say that.

My partner loves that scene from Star Wars and you just gave me a fantastic idea to turn him on… thanks 😊

I have a sexy Supernatural fantasy .. love that show..

Based on comments I have heard fromlady friends in respect of that showI would suggest you are definitely not alone.

I mostly watch shows where they fix, build or destroy shit… so that would be kind of weird 🤣

I think it really depends on the media, and your preexisting or emerging tendencies and/or interested.

For me, I realized I was interested in being controlled and tied when I was quite young (around **-**) after watching an episode of *** Titans Go where the character Beast Boy had been suddenly taken by an alien, had a locked collar, and had to follow the creatures commands to avoid getting shocked. For some reason that scene just stood out to me like a calling.

Pretty sure I discovered my sadism through watching/playing a lot of action anime and video games where pretty men get beat up :sparkles: And if you haven't heard the way Leon Kennedy moans when he gets hurt in Dead By Daylight... hoooo boy.

And if we're talking pop culture at large, let's not forget music! I have a pretty big playlist of songs that give me kinky feelings... Some highlights being Head Like A Hole by Nine Inch Nails, I Wanna Be Your Dog (various covers), and Corrupt by Depeche Mode. (of course in the case of Depeche Mode, many of their songs ARE deliberately about kink already...)

Feminine uniforms and Fem Goth. Hard to be a Geek in the 90s and 2000s and not be in love with the Fem Goth Aesthetic. Cat Girls from Anime and to a lesser degree, Fox Girls. Role-play came from Social Isolation and talking to people online. HUGE back in the Late 90s and through the 2000s like with AOL and Yahoo Chat.
