I think it could be worked out to feel like you are cheating.... if the partner is ok with not knowing details you can have code phrases like im going to the park but you both know you found a hook up partner or such

Oh, I'm sure. And that sort of thing is OK if everyone is on board with that. That IS an aspect of open and Polyam and ENM. Even the air of dishonesty (or, deception, secretiveness whatever term makes it seem less nefarious for ya) stops this whole thing for ME. Not giving details of other lovers is fine if agreed upon etc. This completely lying to partner(s) purposely isn't cool to me but I understand it's "a kink" for some.
