Do you feel that the CNC/Primal kink is slowly fading or growing with this new generation?

CNC/Primal took a massive nose dive with the metoo movement. For many these days, see it as too much of a risk with new partners as in the back of their minds there is a level of doubt and 'what if' and tend to stick with established connections.

Definitely fading the only way I know how to keep it alive and relivent is to continue to practice it and more importantly educating individuals on it.

Everyone else that’s commented is over the age of 25. I wouldn’t exactly say they’re part of this generation.

The cnc kink is definitely growing, the amount of women that openly post about their fantasies, especially with the “ghost face” mask, is all over every social media site.

It’s absolutely still thriving, people these days are just more educated about consent and safe sex, which means they’re less likely to sleep with people they aren’t comfortable around which I think is for the best.

Well if kinksters are thinking of trying that particular kind of play or are unfamiliar with the context, educating them on what it consistent of and what it requires in order to have that play safely is important. You want to make sure that when they try it out that it is done properly otherwise it can be damaging to both parties. So i feel with proper education, people in kink can have an amazing experience with that kind of play which will keep it alive and can help educate others they come across. Make sense?

I’ve heard second hand more of inexperienced cnc play and seems to be a product of lack of education or some exploring fetishists. Certainly seems to trend more with the ‘ghost face’ mask and shit. Have been approached by younger women (like 22-26) to do cnc on a first meet which is just fucking WILD to me. I’m experienced in cnc but it’s never been my thing to lead with it as a first time play date. That just seems so wildly irresponsible to overall safety in scene, not knowing a partners physical cues, it’s can be wildly damaging. I mean list can go on here. It concerns me with the lack of eduction. Wish more kinksters that have the ability would attend more munches and get into the community to learn more before getting themselves or others hurt.

For GenZ, I think CNC is way up. (I also think these folks have the delightful experience of not being as cautious—some of us Millenials+ may see that as naive, but it's also somewhat refreshing to know their first instinct is "have fun" and not "try not to get hurt").

Primal seems to have transformed rather than faded. Many commenters have mentioned the ghost face mask thing: it's just the shift in primal ***-turned-lust from "they've become a beast" to "they've shown their intent" but it's the same thrill of being able to fixate with full attention and abandon (or to find oneself the target of another's single-minded attentions).

CNC on first dates is almost a red flag, but maybe that is an indicator that it's not gonna fall off anytime soon

I agree with you that it’s growing in 25-under.
You can see the growth in popularity by the amount of fanfics with these themes (and the fanfic community is overwhelmingly girls, women, and gender marginalized people. def not a space dominated by male fantasies)

At 36 I still love full fledged and as much as women bug me or have a direct link to my feelings, I hate how the world and this fucked society have created such riffs between us male to female and visa versa.

The amount times I get messages from men Telling me they want s a me in vile ways is insane. No context just vile stuff
They don't ask my consent, and then they keep going even when i proceed to say that that is not my cup of tea with strangers "still assuming they are in to CNC"
Obviously I removed them but still is not safe anymore
And i'm not going to trust someone that can't listen to the word no.

Does that mean you go on regular dates with them before ever doing kink stuff even if it's solely to do kink stuff with that person? (As in, you're not planning to marry them. Just do kink)

If a connection and I are discussing being play partners then we meet up for a vibe check. Always at a public place. One see if the vibe is there in person but also to discuss boundaries, limits, kinks and alignment and how to communicate if limits are being reached (like using traffic light system). If it goes well then may propose to go play right after or schedule something. In a first play date I have a boundary where I won’t do CNC or fully restrain someone (4-5 point). Psychological safety is as important as physical safety to me, so rather not place someone in that situation. Let the trust build and then incorporate those scenes.
Don’t get it twisted though, first play dates a TON is still on the table, but those are just my own boundaries.

Anyhow.  In general I'm seeing more events which are specifically for primals, or which advertise they permit CNC play (as it was often kinda permitted with caveats) than I did 15+ years ago. Many of which are well attended.   Our local primal munch has a range of ages, and just 2 nights ago I was at an event which had a warning a lot of people would be indulging in CNC scenes (some even to the point of 'free use') and yep, a lot of these were initiated from those who were, well, younger than me.  

However, of course, a lot of these are people who indulge in environments they trust and withj people they trust. As it should be.  But, like, no there's no evidence it's dying off.

Mind, a lot of people (quite sensibly) choose it as a destination rather than an end point.   I guess younger women not wanting to do CNC with you is more of a different picture.

It’s definitely not something I’d do on a first meet that’s crazy to me. A first meet is about getting to know each other and figuring out if you’re on the same page and slowly building the intensity from there. I had a group meet fmfm and me and my dom ended up getting into cnc and I really enjoyed it, it was one of those rare occasions when i actually got fucked the way I want but that’s because we’ve been meeting every so often for about two years maybe? So he knows me quite well, he knows what I like and he respects that. It was rough without feeling like I’m actually in imminent danger. So yeah I think familiarity is so important with cnc. I do really like it but only with the right person. He has like ten years of kink experience so it makes sense in that regard. Not sure if it’s dying, he is more of a pleasure dom and most of his subs are very submissive but the fact I’m a brat has allowed him to expand his experience.
