Yes, if you gift one away, you can then go back and recollect it.  However the site gives away a random piece, so best to keep a list of where you found each piece so you know where you need to go back to collect it from.

Sorry to say but unfortunately you can't gift a specific piece to someone who is missing one.  You can only gift to a member who does not hold any pieces at all.  Sleep ....I did, albeit not much of it 😋
