The right red for the red room

Recommended Posts

For the people that do have a red room which color of red did y’all use? I’m thinking magenta or burgundy but I haven’t seen anything specific and I can’t find anything on Google.

That’s nice to know about your opinion of some book.
That’s not quite what I was asking for. Next time, reading might be helpful for people posting on here.
Thanks have a great day

He's right about the book though... but you want a red room, you should have a shade that won't send workmen running to the police screaming you're a serial killer ;) One of the more red terracottas (like tandoori or baked terracotta) is passable for normal without being too garish or sickly. A swatch of colour will appear very different when its covering an entire wall.

Burgundy is beautiful, but I recommend it as more of an accent than the main. Too much red is asking for overstimulation. I would do one whole wall burgundy or do your furniture in that black and deep red to accent the room or a red light that does NOT double as a reptile heat lamp. I’ve taken enough psychology courses to know that a full red room can cause sensory issues. I hope this helps a bit, though I know it probably isn’t news you wanted. Best! 💋

when we do deck out the playroom, it's unlikely to be red.  The whole 'red room' thing is a little cliche - however - I wouldn't restrict on the colour you want. It may be something worth working together with a specific play partner on, as something which is reflective on you both.  If however it is something which is being used as lure for partners ("wanna see my play room") then it's still a case of the vibe that suits you.  Do you want it inviting, or harsh?  Playful or punishment? You can use the colour and shade to reflect that.

Also to consider colour palettes if it is going to be used for photography.

It’s not used for any specific play partner. A color or color set that would be warm and inviting and easy on the eyes.

A dark green or blue. Something like #06281C.

I know you're asking for reds but I find that these colors set the atmosphere I want more than red.

Mine was a more crimson red, darker than just basic red. This gave it a more ominous feel, like blüdy walls. It also helped keep the lighting on the dimmer side.

Most success ive ever had with ***t was hiring ***ters, they've always told me what i wanted was wrong in some way and ive always loved what they suggested, same color idea but slightly different every time
