The Hunt

Recommended Posts

Right before sunset, I’ll tell you I’m running to the store and leave you by the fire. The last light will be fading, everything warm gold turning into deep blue shadow. Before I go, I’ll clip a small glowing light onto you soft, subtle, just enough for me to catch flashes of you once the dark settles in.
When you hear my car door close… that’s your signal.
Stay where you are, slip into the trees, or try to disappear into the dark your choice. But now it becomes a game of patience, breath control, and nerves. Every second you hesitate, I get closer without you knowing it. Every step you take makes your pulse louder… and easier for me to find.
I won’t have any light on me. You won’t see me coming. You’ll just feel it the shift in the air, the way the forest gets quieter, like it’s holding its breath with you.
And somewhere out there, I’ll be listening for you. Not rushing. Not loud. Just patient… enjoying the thought of you wondering how close I am, wondering if I’m already behind you.
Maybe you last a while. Maybe you try to outsmart me and it almost works. Or maybe you give in to the thrill of being found too easily, just to feel what happens when I finally close the distance.
Because the moment I do find you, it’s not really the end of the game.
It’s the part you were actually waiting for.

A solitary glimmer cuts through the suffocating darkness the tiny beacon I clipped to you, bobbing gently between the heavy trunks. The sight of it sends a surge of adrenaline straight to my chest. My pulse thunders in my ears. The hunt is almost over.
With you dead in my sights, patience takes over. Every step is calculated, boots rolling silently over the damp earth, expertly avoiding the snap of dry twigs and brittle leaves. To stretch the tension just a little further, I pick up a heavy stone from the dirt and throw it hard into the brush far to your left. Crack.
I freeze, melting completely into the shadows to watch your reaction.
You spin toward the noise, your breathing hitching in the cold night air. I can practically see your thoughts racing, chest heaving in the dark Was that him? An ***? Someone else? The delicious panic of the unknown holds you entirely captive before I've even laid a hand on you. You are completely consumed by the woods, and I am the only thing watching.
The distance closes to mere yards. The time for sneaking is over. I pull the mask down, letting the darkness swallow my identity, and explode from the tree line.
The sudden, terrifying sound of heavy boots charging straight at you shatters the quiet. By the time you realize which direction I'm actually coming from, the illusion of escape vanishes.
The *** of my body drives you hard against a massive trunk. The rough, unforgiving bark bites into your skin as my hands clamp around your wrists like steel vises, pinning them high above your head. A sharp, stinging slap across your cheek snaps your head to the side a shockwave of friction and heat that instantly floods your system, dissolving the *** into pure, burning adrenaline.
"You're mine now," the words are a low, guttural vibration against your ear.
I don't give you a single second to recover.
I spin you around, pressing you flush against the rough wood, my hand tangling deep into your hair to yank your head back. My mouth crashes into the exposed curve of your neck, teeth grazing the frantic pulse beating under your skin. My free hand grips the waistband of your sweatpants, dragging them down in one impatient, heavy motion.
The sharp chill of the night air hits your skin for only a fraction of a second before my knee ***s your legs wide apart, taking absolute control, and discovering exactly how ready for this capture you really are...
