often variations of the scam involve a legit looking website that goes nowhere.  so if people do google or go to a link to book themselves it still triggers the scam

Seems to be more scammers on here than legit people or perhaps I just look gullible and attract them. Always starts off well then the inevitable "let's talk on a different app" message comes up. Almost got caught out the first time it happened but luckily I read the safety guidelines in the help files.
Just had it happen again so I decided to string them along hoping it would stop them scamming someone else. I managed to get them to call me and the back ground noise identified that they were in a call center and had an Asian accent. Very sad people.
