Is being friends with exs taboo?

I'm friends with all my ex's. They were all really good people when I dated them or I wouldn't have dated them in the first place. If you don't attack each other for your differences on the way out it isn't too hard to stay friends.

Dating to me isnt commitment. You are playing a field and if you say i love you to one shouldnt you be done with the rest?

Not at all. You desired them hopefully for more than their body and… sometimes they’re genuinely good people. But romance isn’t pure for everyone and the frequency of what is "normal“ is fluid. So be friends with your ex. If the sex is good, go there too! Life is too short to have arguments over nonsense.

One doesnt have to argue and if there were arguments....why would you want more of that potentially?

Always open to possibility of long term. Im a big fan of letting things be as they are meant to be. But to answer your question, I dont really do "playmates" per se. But I have dated a few people that have lasted less than 3 months (as we all have) and some that have lasted years.

Depends on your set up. If youre trying to be monogamous, yeah I would say so

My partners had issue with my ambition and wishing to enter a polyamorous/swinger lifestyle… then the arguments started.

I’ve only ever been back to an ex once because we have a child together but other than that I’d never go back to an ex.

Someone I had a casual situation with before sure, as long as we were both on the same page with what we wanted now.

I’ve never had a messy breakup and I’ve always had contact with exes until I’ve had partners after that felt a way about it (which I understand) but as an adult I’m not gonna play a game where me or an ex have gotta avoid eachother or there be animosity there. We gave it a crack, it didn’t work, shit happens 🤷 unless you had a really nasty breakup or they were an utter psycho, there’s no issue for me.

I guess I’ve been lucky in the respect that I’ve never had a horrible partner, I’m careful who I mingle with.

Im with you. Nearly all my relationships have been over 2 years and fug me if ohio is full of junkies. N no offense to anyone struggling or has relasped however ugh after a time or two signs is prevalent and Ms SltShkspr hmu

If they are seeing you in the romantic sense while still getting tackled by some other fella, and you wernt made aware of this beforehand, yeh that’s shady. People have all types of complicated arrangements, if they told you from day one then that’s on you to decide wether you want to be in the mix, if they kept that from you, I’d knock that situation on the head immediately. But outside of this circumstance I don’t think there’s an issue with having ex’s as friends as a general rule. You feel like there is because of this particular situation. However, I think the person should be upfront about the (ex is a friend) scenario if they still physically meet up, then you have the choice to say whether you are cool with that.

Exactly. Being active aint an issue for me. Me being made to think they guys/gals that never said love but have fuked me up. The things that happened the first month are absolutely hard to swallow and believe. Coincidence isnt applicable as so many things aligned and hell anyone remember when fet was down like a month ago....it may have been us lmao...pm for more

Okay so personally I feel like exes can be friends under certain circumstances. the word love was never thrown around. They the relationship was extremely short. And my final one would have to be because I was friends with this person before we decided to hook up found out it's probably not going to work and decided to pursue other options

I am friends with all of my ex's except for my ex-husband. But they are just text messages or phone calls. We do not meet up and hang out together.

I’m cool with all my exes, but I don’t wanna be friends with them.
If we meet by chance, we can talk, but it’s not deep anymore. I want to concentrate on actual friends and family and oc my actual partner.
If you’re still friends with or without benefits, there might be something undone and you’ll keep the door open, I feel🤔
Not my style and mostly not my partner’s either which I really appreciate!

You said that real well n i align with that. A couple relationships we'd get heavy with others but i would have the guys contact info, or gals if this newest woulda been honest, and she would have the gals contacts for me and we Rarely romped with someone twice. It kept it about the sex and not being able to know the others. We'd have to approve the treats. It went well for awhile until she involved work people of hers and well....crashed and i turned haha n left

I believe this is where closure with one's exes are essential. All my exes, I am cool with them. I doubt any of them would say anything negative about me or our time together.

However, that doesn't mean there has to be a lingering communication with them after the fact. If our paths cross in different ways in the future, we can always just have a chat, but we move on with our lives.

Returning back to resurrect what should be dead and buried means it was never properly killed off in the first place. If lingering motives still exists, then that gives room for anything to occur. The human psyche is very delicate and I prefer to be very intentional about how I end things with people. There's a reason you became my ex and that reason has to be respected.

I had a mate whose ex-girlfriend was his Best man at his wedding.
No set rule for anything, just depends on the people 🤷🏾‍♂️

If people are mature enough to handle it, sure it's ok. But you usually break up with them for a reason, feelings can be hurt, there's often resentment etc so it can be challenging. Especially if they've turned out to be a cunt...

Lmmfao especially infukindeed. I have conversed with a couple years later online only but haha those talks lasted no more than 6 months.
For me ifs the quips and inside shit said doesnt make it fair to a new partner if monogo. My track record has shown what seems fun ends up trouble to the heart. Lane switching is prevalent and for a me i just dont get it.
