Could “Scoring” Be a Kink in Its Own Right??

I’ve always had a habit of keeping count of orgasms during BDSM sessions. It’s never really been something I consciously thought of as a kink of its own — it was simply something I naturally incorporated into sessions.

Recently, while looking through and learning about a wide range of different kinks, I realised that I don’t really see people talking about this particular aspect of BDSM. That got me thinking about why I do it and what it actually adds to a session.

I’ve started calling it “scoring.” The idea is simply keeping a running count, with the counting itself becoming part of the mindset and dynamic. For me, it feels distinct from things like edging or orgasm denial because the purpose isn’t to restrict orgasm but encourage. Instead, the score becomes something both people are aware of and afterwards it can also give you a clearer idea of what contributed to the orgasms and what seemed to have the most impact.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder whether scoring could actually be considered a kink in its own right, rather than just a habit or an element of another kink.

I’d really like to hear other people’s opinions. Does this sound like its own kink to you or am I essentially putting a name to something that already exists under another term? And does anyone else naturally keep count during sessions?

Why wouldn’t you?? If orgasms of any distinction are your fetish then why wouldn’t you be aiming for the most for your subs??

I have a system. I do them all unless begged to stop. Otherwise. I go back to the beginning and do it all again. It doesn’t take long to run out of fingers and toes when trying to count.😮

Fascinating perspective! For me, this would be a turn-off because it brings performance tracking into a space where I'm trying to quiet my overthinking brain and feel safe. It really highlights the divide between people who find arousal in data/quantification versus those who need total mental decompression to enjoy a session.

Interesting!! I see it less as data tracking or performance related as it’s not simply about high numbers. I actually tell my subs it’s the only thing to think about any many say they enjoy only focusing on that. Thank you for your perspective

I enjoy keeping track and setting particular goals with it but most of the time its just a mental note so I can think through my performance and what I did. As far as if its a valid kink or fetish I'd absolutely say so. In a way its a form of orgasm control. Just less about approval and denial and more about quantity and scene control

by the definition of kink, yes keeping track/score of orgasms could most certainly be deemed to be a kink.

Though.  Not one partners might automatically share and could find off-putting, it may even be if they're expected to (or, not expect to) they may fake to distort the numbers

Oh it’s definitely a thing. More than counting, it’s the goal I kink out on.
