Empty profiles are a red flag

Recommended Posts

Not alone in the slightest. I see a fair amount of femme subs that have "no limits" in their bios, and as someone that's into a fair amount of hard kinks, that's a major red flag. Not a lot of people like knifeplay or ***play - which is completely fine, those are pretty extreme - but it should be clear on your profile if you're down for that kind of play. Same thing with *** or ***

It’s also frustrating to HAVE a bio and then have a match (on other unnamed sites) respond in the first message in a way that makes it clear that they hadn’t even read it…but empty bios are definitely a barrier to overcome. Even a pretty basic one gives some idea of whether or not intentions align.

Lazy people who refuse to think or write or put much effort into communication or anything in life get horny too 😉

It's just as bad on FetLife if you don't have anything in your profile you get blocked or just ignored by me

And on top of it they don't read the profiles and get frustrated when you don't put much effort into talking to them. We took the time to answer 90% of the questions we get. If you ask a question that is clearly answered in our profile we're not going to respond.

Men as a whole don’t read profiles I even tried putting a lesbian flag in my profile pic and still they are denser than concrete

A part of me absolutely understands this, and I feel like every profile should be full. But at the same time, I always try to make pretty comprehensive and/or entertaining profiles and I still don't get replies or comments a lot of the time. I also try to be polite and message in a manner to actually start a conversation. Am I perfect? Hell no, by no means. But men are normally very proactive when it comes to speaking first while women are far more reserved. There are tons of men who would love to have an actual conversation and very rarely do because women do not want to interact with them. To each their own, but there's meh practices on both sides.

They wants facial pics…. I refuse for my own safety, so sometimes that will make it less “trustworthy” maybe.

But at the same time, I will post that I am up for B/DS/SM, which ever aspects but that for my vanilla relationship we do not allow for c**k penetration. It’s very clearly stated, and yet the “hey baby, wanna screw” is still the messsage I received often…

Agreed. I think because the nature of the app, most people think "its just sex so why fill out a profile about me" even though really one bad partner can lead to years of trauma so people who can't be bothered with at least some detail about themselves on their profile of what they are looking for are immediately suspicious for me. I can forgive a no face profile only cause people have actual lives to live, but at least give me something so I can make the decision to engage with some informed consent on my part. Or what is worse, they express being dominant in their profile and beg for submission in inbox messages.

Or we are men and dont feel like filling out pointless questions that yall women can ask or are gonna ask anyway because some dont read profiles they just message

I stay private and don’t disclose a lot until I’ve had a few chat conversations. Some details need to be privately shared. I’ve found most are understanding of this, but I would not assume everyone with limited info given upfront is manipulating or deceiving. Some likely are though, for sure.

@@knottyLibrarian nbsp;, I agree totally. Anytime I see a profile with no pictures or not much information, I assume that they are scam and spamming. Fake bullsh*t. 👍

i mean to be fair ask me is as straightforward as it gets in a great way to start the conversation. What do you wanna know?
ask me is really all you need.

There’s a lot of fake profiles, when I see some with a few pictures and no description, I ignore

Well, I've just joined recently and simply didn't have enough time to set up my profile properly.

Some of the prompts are about things I never thought about before and I want to think about what I want to say about myself and why I am here.

Baaically still figuring out what I am looking for here which is why I am not trying to reach out to people, wouldn't make sense.

Then just say that.

Or maybe no one takes time to read a profile anymore, so what's the point?

I've had that happen.. I can tell about 75% of the messages are from guys who haven't read my profile..

Why just “Men” though? Seems kinda sexist. Like girls get a pass for saying nothing in their profiles?

I agree but many of the women’s profiles are also slim, with no substance and they do not let comments happen. If men did that the site would not exist.
