Reporting fake profiles and spammers

Recommended Posts

As an online kink community, it’s important that we all work to create a safe space where we can express ourselves and create a sense of trust with one another.  Part of that is understanding that it’s YOUR community too.  As with any online community, there will always be fakes and spammers, but with your help, we can work together to make Fetish.com a great experience for everyone who’s here to play.

If you suspect any member of not being ‘real’ or if you think some users are not adhering to the community guidelines, please report them to the Fetish.com Support Team.  You can report a profile (button at the bottom of the left-hand column), you can also report individual messages and comments in the forum.

Your help in weeding out fakes and spammers is crucial in making the community as good as it can be. We love having you guys around on Fetish.com ;)

There are processes that are used and these can take some time. If you have concerns over any members, please feel free to report. If you're reporting a user for a second time, explain as thoroughly as possible why so our support team knows what to look for.

We take every report very seriously and want to make the fetish.com  experience the best it can be for everyone.

So many fake profiles....i love reporting them, gotta say 😄👍

Dear Fet…

1. the reporting process is way too complicate
Is it a scammer? A fake? A multiprofile? I as a user don’t care. Just give me a report button and send it. Not „pick the right category and then add some information to it“. If we are reporting a profile and it hits a critical mass in a short time then take a good look onto the profile.
2. improve your processes!
I stopped reporting profiles. Because clear fake profiles have been still coming back even while I gave you the link to multiple sites where the pictures which is used has been uploaded years ago.
3. do something against AI shit.
The number of scammers switching away from random internet pictures to AI pictures is there. We can’t no longer trust pictures here.
4. rework your profile verifications.
I mentioned AI. Your internal process of profile verification is failing in AI. First the raise your hand picture… it doesn’t check what the user later is uploading. It’s just „there is a human“. This can be bypassed with AI pictures. My favorite profile you flagged as „oh yeah that’s real“ was using later Donald trump as profile picture. Very trusty.
5. improve your pattern detection.
Yes. This is work. But the amount of *** you get from fakes receiving gifts should cover that. You have all the data. IPs, client information, picture hashes, etc.
And yet I still see the same stupid fake profile creating a new account every day. The same pictures being used on several profiles but with different informations like location. The same stupid FinDom texts over and over.
6. fix your word filter
I find it very embarrassing that you filter for the word insta (I hope this is here working) on profiles. But not flagging FinDom and other forbidden keywords right the moment someone presses save for their new profile text. Instead you letting those profiles running while they are breaking your rules but you earning *** with them because they are still receiving gifts.
This is why we have currently such a high number of fake profiles.

All of this… makes Fet right now less safe. And your advertisement is that Fet is supposed to be a safe community. I hate to break it to you. But right now it’s not. If you don’t fix it… users will leave the app and you are killing your cash cow.

There actually is just a report button. Just click "report content" it'll ask if you want to send it, say yes and you're done. It's the easiest way

But then going back to bad UI stuff. :)
If there is an easy option, why keeping the complicated? Also it differs form where you report the person. App vs website. Directly from the profile vs a single picture. You don’t always have the easy option.

Has anybody had experience with AI assistance? I just had one that was pretending to be a woman who lost her husband during covid

Say what ni??!😂😂😂😂

Our question, is reimbursement when you pay with points to raise your messages to the frauds, when is fet reimbursement of the 10% purposely causing FeT issues. On known , reported and documented frauds!

I'd like to know what are some of the things you look for when identifying if someone's profile is a scammer or bot?

If they advertise/promote sites like telegram or insta on their description or in the photos. Also anyone who says findom or sugar daddy/baby in their description.

I don't know if I'd call *** and sugar babies a scam. They are telling you what their intentions are.

What I'm talking about are the ones collecting information and I like you said promoting other sites on the pretense of having some interest in having a relationship with you.

F1ndom and sug*r are both not allowed on the site.  Report the profiles, so they can be removed.

1. any kind of financial interest is not allowed.
Yes there are kinks around it. But also scammer do know this and the risk is currently very high.
I see frequently profiles stating „looking for ***. Offering nothing in return“. Or writing it in a weird way to bypass any filtering. That’s a clear sign of this is going to be a scam.
2. like already mentioned. Any kind of contact details inside pictures or so is also a bypassing the rules and a sign of being scammy.
3. I reverse google pictures of if I get a weird feeling
4. I let ai check when reverse googling is not showing any clear signals.

What bugs me here is that the risk of being scammed is not always clear and people to pay with gifts and stuff but are not getting their *** back. That should be handled by fet.
Including, do a reverse google search when they upload the picture. Check the profile text for forbidden keywords and block them right away. Or anything else. There are a lot of things which could be done to make the situation better for everyone. Including fet itself for having then less reports to handle.

Like the mod said, both are not allowed on here. Therefore, scammers

I guess first off I'm unsure why someone decided to resurrect a thread after 8 years of inactivity, such is life.

it's kinda funny how times changed - when leocadia made the original post (and he's long gone from the site) one of the common things people were doing to scam involved using pictures of Pro Dommes, a lot would try to avoid the more obvious ones, and some would even dig through older pictures of said Domme - mind - this did cause some issues because some actual real Pro Dommes came to use the site be it for their own dating interests - or to advertise (which WAS allowed AT THE TIME) getting their profiles removed

It was kinda easy to spot the fake because they'd be using a picture of, say, a Domme from Manchester but be listed in London (or vice versa)

But still.

One of the main issues with "fakes and scammers" is being able to prove it.   I know there is a frustration we all have when something which fails the sniff test - and so we hit report and support seemingly does nothing

Which then takes us to another problem from "around then" at the time support used to take reports of fakes very seriously. In fact, too seriously.  That folk would report someone for "Being fake" and it would make them do a fake check.   This was very frustrating because it meant folk were effectively made to verify on a site they were still establishing if they could trust - and for anyone they were in conversaiton with the person would find the person was now unavailable - and a lot of time didn't return.  So frustrating for everyone.

It did also generate a lot of complaints.

It is a question of course of whether guys were maliciously reporting people as being fake (there's reason to suspect they were) or of course the kinda issue that just because you think someone is fake, doesn't mean they are.

Anyhow - scammer, or not, anyone that doesn't pass your own sniff test isn't worth continuing a conversation with anyway

Anyone asking *** it doesn't matter if they're fake or not, it's not permitted on this site

The other general hallmarks of fake/scammer

- Try to get you off site, especially quickly

- Express an unreasonable level of interest in you quickly, i.e. they go from hello to "I want to be your sub/Domme/lover/whatever" VERY quickly

- Even if not asking for *** or to take the chat elsewhere, sending links for you to book dungeons, buy toys, etc which look suspicious is likely to be a scam

- Unfortunately stuff like use of AI is no longer a good tell given so many people use it to enhance their profiles, esp if English isn't their first language : so it may be someone using it isn't fake/scam but again if it fails your own sniff test then no longer engage anyway
