What are the rules/limits on posting internet links in forum threads?  What about You Tube links?  Thanx.

any external links are unfortunately not permitted. Sorry.

Hello, thanks for your query. Links to external sites are not permitted for any advertising purposes. But you can share YouTube links if the content is Fetish.com safe! And if you would like to include your website on your profile, we allow this if you include our banner on your website in return. You can find out more here. If you have any questions, feel free to slide into my DMs! :)

Thanks All.  So, I am reading that You Tube links are OK, provided they're not pornographic?

I have to admit I struggle with the link rule, it feels a little like censorship.

Quite often when a person asks for help you are almost hindered in giving it, an example would be when someone (a newcomer) asks about rope and where to buy it, more often than not people buy the worst stuff at ridiculous prices from sex vendors, I cannot really see an issue with posting a link or two to a decent supplier.

Same actually goes for the "Kink on a budget" article and discussion, links would have been good there.

Then there's the YouTube rule; what if I post a link to a Twisted Monk video? I mean it's informative, fun and instructional but it's also a platform for Twisted Monk to sell their wares and therefore promotional. There's tons like that for it is the nature of social media.

It's great Fetish are trying to build a kind of ""hub for all things kink" but it feels like a monopolisation and restrictive at times.

I know that's not entirely fair as Fetish does reviews of other sites and platforms, does a bit to list events etc. Doesn't negate the fact that links can sometimes be helpful.
