Dating Sites can feel like a bit of a minefield when it comes to finding others into your fetish. Do sites exist where this isn't a problem? In serving our vision to be the most trusted BDSM and Fetish community, we asked Victoria Blisse (The Queen of Smut) to try out Fetishlovers.com. They claim that "nothing [is] considered too risqué or too brazen", let's see if that claim is valid.

Fetishlovers.com Visual Appeal | Sleazy Does It

You could easily imagine that you've stumbled across the website for a strip club when you first arrive at Fetishlovers.com. It doesn't yell 'fetish' other than the fact it's black and red.

There is a long blurb that talks about how it "is happy to welcome people from all countries with all different kinds of tastes." But Fetishlovers.com doesn't mention much about specific fetishes, even when you've signed up.

Once you're logged in, the red and black colour scheme continues. The layout is simple, but there are lots of porn ads that you might not want people looking over your shoulder and seeing.

Fetishlovers.com Navigation and User Feel | A Bit Kinky

Signing up is a breeze, though the options you can choose are not only binary, they're a little weird. Femdomme comes under 'sex', and I know that's not an actual gender.  Once you've answered that question, you add what you're searching for, your age and your email address and you're in.

Once in Fetishlovers.com, you'll be prompted to fill in your profile a bit at a time. First, you're asked to fill in an 'about me', add a photo, then to fill in the rest of the profile, including many random questions. One of the multiple-choice options on the subject of 'What sex toys do you like?' is 'office supplies'. I might have missed something there.

Also, regarding the spanking options, there's a question on what level of spanking you like, which is good, but one of the responses is 'no limits'.  This is a big red flag for me. Everyone has BDSM limits, and any responsible BDSM or fetish site should acknowledge that.

As I looked around Fetishlovers.com, I found that several tags had been associated with my profile. One of the tags was 'cheater' because I chose 'married' when signing up - not very sex-positive or polyamory friendly!  While you can remove all tags once you're signed up, I feel they should not be applied in the first place without consent.

Overall, the site is easy to navigate, loads quickly, and most things are easy to find.

Fetishlovers.com Community Feel | Hook me Up

There isn't a community feel on Fetishlovers.com. There is a chat that leads to different rooms, but I found that people only use them to post their hookup requests. There's no actual interaction.  It's hard to connect with anyone without upgrading your profile, as there are limitations with a free account. A quick search shows up plenty of members; how many are active is harder to ascertain.

If you're looking for other kinky people to date, you might find someone on Fetishlovers.com but if you're looking for a fetish community then don't bother. Check out the forum and chat here at Fetish.com where community is priority.

Is Fetishlovers.com Free? Limited Usage

You can use Fetishlovers.com straight away with only a free membership. However, you only have ten free messages to send, which are pre-written and cheesy; some of them are even offensive.

You can't send messages without upgrading. However, when I signed up, there was a 'happy hour' that lasted for five hours where you could send messages for free. I don't know if that happens each week as the only information on it popped up as an advert.

To get the best use of the site, you need to upgrade as without this your ways to communicate with others are severely limited. With a premium account (which costs one pound for a five-day trial or £29.99 a month). There are cheaper options if you sign up for a year at a time, for example, you can:

  • Send unlimited messages and flirts
  • See all full-size public photos
  • Browse and watch public videos of any user
  • See full profiles and social network handles of all users
  • See who likes you and wants to meet you
  • Search users by interests, screen name and much more

Fetishlovers.com Help and 'FAQ's | Good info

The link to the FAQ/Help page is tiny and at the very bottom of the page. It's not the easiest thing to find. Once you do, you'll find it filled with helpful questions and answers that cover practically using the site and subscription enquiries, amongst other things.

Fetishlovers.com Final Thoughts | Where are the Fetish Lovers?

There may be lots of fetish lovers on Fetishlovers.com, but it's not easy to communicate with them or even find any without upgrading to a premium account. It might be worth giving Fetishlovers.com a try if you see some users you're interested in messaging. But, definitely think twice before signing up for more than a trial as it's hard to see how many legitimate profiles there are on Fetishlovers.com without paying.
