Massive influx of fake accounts

The examples you gave to me in PM are certainly not obvious scammers, so I can see why they haven't been removed already.  The site also needs to protect against false accusations, so there needs to be solid evidence.

I sent the short version, I hoped you’d read the original report and messages to admin. #1 was using images from a pornstar who isn’t local for example. Then wanting me to “verify” on ***am. As well as their messages reading like classic scammer bait. I’m 100% sure about them

Wellness everyone sick of this topic. I am, I'm overloaded. Why doesn't admin put a lesson up or put an article in your set up to explain ways of telling a fake account from a legitimate one.
They won't do this because they make too much *** from yhe fake accounts. It's the same either filters, it would take a lot more scarce if they removed them. They want the community to look bigger then what it is. That's why so many go unnoticed. I'm 60 and 19 year olds are inappropriate for me. But I still get them even though my filter says 45 and above. I'm a sub with no interest in being dominant, but the majority of likes I get are from subs looking for a master.
Why am I seeing these. Because it keeps the wrong people interested and there for looks more busy. For more *** coming in.
It doesn't matter to them if yhry are fake or not or even if hey don't get verified, they still appear. How about they vet them first send then let yhem on the site. Half of the likes I get are from vanilla woman looking for romance. This is an insult to fetish people every where. I for one have syop looking

As mentioned in PM, I'm a Fetmod for the forums, don't see the support tickets.

I've spoken to two beautiful ladies who no were obviously scammers. It took me a little longer than normal but eventually could see the similarities. Alphanumeric profile names they both worked in the cosmetic induahryj invested in real estate and were living off their Blockchain wallet. eventually challenges them and they were scammers. Didn't bother reporting them to moderators as I have done before and nothing gets done. so just ahead up boys and girls .

Because there are already many topics about it, such as this one https://www.fetish.com/topic/171084-how-to-spot-a-scam/

We run a constant battle of 'wack-a-mole' to try and remove scammers, that's why we really appreciate the help.  We do however need to do due diligence and not just remove profiles because someone makes a claim about it.

I'll add a little insights from my relevant experiences (including being on this site almost since it's expansion to the UK)

Around 7 years ago there were pretty strict 'fake checks' where reporting someone would pretty much trigger them having to prove they were real.  The problem is this was frustrating for everyone - a guy would be chatting happily to a lady, but then another guy would approach the lady and she'd rebuke him and he'd report through spite.  She then had to go through fake check, and for the person chatting away positively, they're suddenly locked out of being able to converse.  Frustrating and discriminatory.   A potential advantage here would be to have, say, everyone undergo a fake check.   Now, there are dating sites in existence where everyone does have to fake check and this causes problems because people are relatively unsure about what is being asked from them - Fluttr for example - though that seems to have rolled back it's expansion, probably because not enough users are willing to hand over personal details to join a dating site.

So the whole thing then poses problems in the sense that there needs to be some solid proof that someone is fake, or running a scam (or, solid proof someone is reporting out of spite) and that's difficult.  "How do you know they're a scammer?", "They look like one" sadly doesn't fly

So a lot of sites have to look for behaviour patterns, data analysis, and of course relying on reports where they can then see that yes the person did ask for ***, or did have some behaviours which weren't natural.  And sometimes investigation isn't open and closed.

The conspiracy of course is that dating sites keep on scammers/fakes/bots because it makes them *** - and if this is something anyone genuinely believes then, simply, the only way to win is not to play.   Because there was a site which was close to 'fool proof' and people weren't that interested because it turns out in the battle against "fakes" a lot of people are not that happy to prove they themselves are who they say they are.

So yeah, there'll always be a steady turnover of suspicious accounts on dating sites, and really the steps are to simply not engage with them - assume it's a real person who lives too far away, or has different kinks/fetishes - and if they engage with you to not being drawn in and if something fails the sniff test, stop engaging regardless of if you report or not.

The main thing scammers/bots/fakes thrive on is how a lot of marks have such a low regard of who they'll message in the first place.

Can a forum be started to share fake pics and profile names so when they come up again paying members aren’t wasting time with them

No, for a variety of reasons.  Firstly, the rules don't allow 'calling out' others.

Mainly, the correct route is to report them, so that they can be investigated and  removed.

Just because they blocked you, doesn't mean they are automatically fake.  They may not have liked you for being too pushy to meet etc.

Yep, just canceled my membership. For all the accounts I reported fet should be paying me. this is ridiculous.

Mods are More worried about protecting fakes, bots and catfish then the people paying for membership … “Bound” to be a better eventually

Categorically untrue.  I personally report about 5 suspect accounts per day and remove a number of accounts a week, who I have proof myself about.  We play a constant game of wack-a-mole with fake/scam accounts.

To iamblack sheep.
Both fake and inappropriate profiles are subjective, I agree. But this is why you have filters, to remove inappropriate or unwanted attention from people who don't meet your criteria. Location, sub or Dom. This is 2hy we have filters. 3xplain why I'm seeing 1000 profiles from America and non from where I'm at. As these people don't meet my criteria, that makes them scammers. If they read my profile, they wouldn't message me. I am not on this site for vanilla women who want romance from America. I'm on this site to meet dominant woman in Australia. Although I have given up on meeting someone here.

No, that is not what a scammer is!

As for you seeing people, that would depend on where you are seeing them, there are multiple ways to filter; most are specific to the function you are using.  i.e. mail filters won't apply to you browsing members and vice-versa

yep. I genuinely encourage people to use filters - and also set criteria on who can message you.

For those of you looking for a way to help find fake accounts, reverse image search their photos. I’ve found many profile who use stolen pics from other social media accounts or even clothing ads. I have three different accounts on my people who liked me tab using three different names but using the same person as the profile pic.
Look, this is a specific dating site for a specific type of person looking for a specific type of relationship. If a you get a like (and the last 3 that I have received) that font meet your filters then they are just scammers. 98% of all likes that I get are scammers. They don't get verified, they don't do the bdsm test or they don't share it. The bddm test should be part of the verification process because how does a punter like me know who they are talking to when they don't. It's also a way to weed out people being shared from other platforms to make it look like there are more kinky people out there then there are. This is a marketing ploy from admin. Plain and simple.
Just tried to start a petition about UN verified accounts on this site. I have been duely punished for it. Admin obviously doesn't want to know what their clientele wants.

Correction, you were not punished for it.  Your post wasn't approved and you were told to raise a support request. Forums aren't polls for feature requests.

I've done that a lot but when I report them nothing is done.

Firstly, not everyone considers this a dating site/app.
Secondly, the so-called BDSM test here is very flawed! I find that it's best to rely on what people indicate as their roles and what they put in their profiles.

The operative word here is IF. Many people don't read the profiles thoroughly. You could put something near the bottom of your profile that says something like "say this in your message to me se that I know you read my profile. If you don't then you will be ignored."
