Based on the guys I know who have done it it's a form of peacocking and the ever growing trend of objectifying both men and women we see in consumed media. They tend to view women less as people and more as a sexual object so in thier mind women view them as a sexual object so they "strut thier stuff". It's no different then the mindset of men who assume all women are only after *** going out and flashing large amounts of cash to get attention or dressing to show off how muscular they are.

I really like your perspective and I whole heartily agree with you.

This is exactly what I assume is the guys are mindset, intentions or motives. It SCREAMS F*CKBOY!! "HOOKUP BULLSHIT".

I personally find it so unattractive and a huge 🚩 turn off. It says alot about a Man who thinks all women enjoy being visually ***ed. 🤢🤢

I have always assumed they’re getting off on a woman not consenting and being ***d to look at them

I wondered about that too

but the question remains. would they do that in a face to face social situation? in a bar?  at a munch?  i think not. in person it would not be acceptable behaviour. why do they think it is considered acceptable behaviour to send to random strangers online?

What’s worse is unsolicited videos. I never consented to that.
I've found it's either they have what they believe to be a large one and want to show it off and have validation for that or that they have a fetish for being told they have a tiny one and want to get off on the ***.
I've had it both ways, it's always a block from me, I don't play those games.
Lol they arent illegal first of all and tbh all this shit about "unsolicited" is bullshit. You go into a chat room and people complain "you didn't ask permission to message me" lol hello??? Newsflash we don't need permission to talk to someone or send pics you all need to get over yourselves. Don't like it then delete it period but nobody needs permission to send you stuff

from a UK perspective, it is actually  illegal to send it to a person without first gaining the recipients consent... it is also illegal in the USA unless both parties agree.. it is called cyberflashing and in some states can lead to jail time.

you need to draw a distinction between messaging and sending intimate pictures.. they are not one and the same..

Sexting is not illegal when photos are shared between consenting adults. However, there are a variety of ways that sexting can be illegal under state and federal law, especially if one or both participants are minors. This article explores state and federal criminal charges that could arise from sexting.

UNSOLICITED DICK PICS IN TEXAS

Penal Code 21.19 makes it a Class C misdemeanor to send visual material (without the express consent of the recipient or at their request) that depicts:

A person engaging in sexual conduct

The person’s intimate parts exposed, or

The covered genitals of male in a “discernibly turgid state.”

In other words, an unsolicited dick pic is a criminal offense in Texas. That includes a dick pic that is not exposed, but the penis is hard.

they arent illegal first of all

actually in most territories they are

In some regions there is a specific act which specifically mentions dick pics

in others it comes under malicious communications or other equivilents.

There is, to be fair, the slight issue that in some territories there has to be proof that there was intent to cause distress and that the guy wasn't just an idiot - but - there are also laws in many territories either presently or coming soon which requires platforms to protect against people sending such content.  So even where it's not illegal it's against terms of use of most sites.

I think the first guy says it all. It's an act of insecurity, narcissism and a desperate grasp of control.
Ooops, the first guy is vague- I'm learning how to use this app. The second sentence stands. I'm not trying to be insulting- I'm just being blunt
