I noticed you’re wearing some low heeled booties in one of your pics. Those are great. I love wearing a lower heel. When I want to wear something higher, it is less often. My ability to successfully wear heels has increased a ton since I started practicing Pilates. Stronger legs, feet, ankles and core make it so I can wear higher heels now, and feel confident.
A chunky block heel as it will provide more support for your ankles and balance in general over something like a stiletto or kitten heel x
Honestly I will tell you the absolute best trick. Take this from a person that was a drag queen. This is how I was taught. If you wanna wear heels, first don’t be scared of them. My first pair was six inch stilettos. Hurt like a bitch. However to learn and I even say this to women. Put a pair on even if they are high, and clean the house. Vacuum, mop, dust, wash dishes, make the bed, pick up. Everything you normally do. Bend over. The whole thing. You already know the natural movements. By doing cleaning movements it teaches every movement of balance. Don’t be scared of the big ones either. Kitten heels are cute but just dive in. Another piece of advice is if ya have ankle issues like I had after huge heels find amazing pair of ankle boot heals that are tight on the ankle for support. Onlymaker.com makes awesome heals in men’s sizes as well.
I also found that "dancers heels" have way better support and hurt less!
definitely recommend practicing. Had a coworker before who wore stripper type heels and she said she would walk the treadmill in them to get used to it.
Also remember when walking heel down first and then toes. Follow through
Yeah dance heels or character shoes are good for practice. They have a strap and are build to really support your foot.
Love platforms & block heels. For stripper heels (and heels in general) a great hack is using a box cutter or something similar to cut up underneath a bit, helps prevent slipping. Also, if you’re wearing heels that have plastic which is cutting into your foot, blow drying the plastic to help change the shape helps.
Love the dance heels suggestion! Makes me want to try some. I’m at that age where I wonder why we wear things that hurt 🤷🏻‍♀️
.
Platform heels have a platform under the ball of the foot, which is cushioning, but also the heels look higher than they actually are to walk on, if that makes sense. Wedges are great to wear for long periods or to practice and learn in as they’re more supportive.
.
Also hush puppies are comfy to wear in terms of padding inside. And look for wide fits so your foot isn’t squashed and can properly spread out and use your full foot to walk with (unless you have particularly narrow feet).
The other thing about practicing is the taller, the heel the more muscles it takes in the hole wear it around the house until you’re used to. It is a great idea and every day you should just up the time that you spend in them to build up those muscles in your calves.
I'm 6 ft 7 and I try not to wear heels I would probably break my neck

I would say a good wedge is best to start with. You dont have to worry what your heel is going to get stuck in
