First off, I'm sorry this happened.

Appreciate this is not the experience you were interested in or looking for - and that I feel - yes, the club could probably have been a little more supportive.

Alas, this is sometimes the issue with pick up play at these kind of events, especially if drink gets involved.  It sounds like she'd got to a point of entertaining some form of play and taking pleasure in slapping people when she'd had enough of you.   Unfortunately, this was probably a warning sign she was going to do it with you.  From her perspecitve, you're just the next person in the queue.

I'd add also that comms does go two ways, and having seen she'd slapped others it was probably a good idea to raise with her that slapping was a limit and she might have either said "OK, then I'm not playing with you" - fair enough.  Or, discussed another inevitable punishment.

Re-reading what you wrote, I'd missed that the venue DID take it seriously and were going to have a word with her but she'd left.     I think that is a massive boost, because it does back up that this isn't really how folk should go on.

I hope you're OK and I hope this doesn't put you off future events, but yep, if the other person isn't forthcoming on rules/boundaries/etc then it's ok to raise, even if it's for clarification

Thank you for your comments again, I agree with the steep learning curve, I agree with the warning sign, I just assumed she had done that previously because a sub had touched her without consent, so I didn’t feel at risk, but yes alcohol and pick up and play has definitely made me feel more aware of communication and boundaries, and this isn’t a reflection of true public play. Her response after I was rather disgusted with to be honest.

It's one of those things in essence which is weird - because it shouldn't have happened - but the whole environment just isn't one set up properly for discussions etc.

a lot of busy events in general, especially when someone is effectively doing a 'production line' of people waiting to play

Though, IIRC Goddess Room is very speak when you're spoken to - women in complete command which can make it even more difficult.
