Talking About Fetishes: Beyond Labels 🖤

Fetishes aren’t just trends or categories — they’re expressions of curiosity, identity, and sometimes vulnerability

What’s interesting today isn’t only which fetishes are popular, but why they resonate with so many people.

Power dynamics, sensory-focused interests, and aesthetic-based fetishes seem increasingly visible 👁️

But visibility doesn’t always mean understanding.

I think fetishes deserve more space for reflection:

how we discover them, how they evolve, and how consent and communication shape healthy exploration 🔗

Curiosity isn’t about chasing trends — it’s about learning.

What do you think is changing in the way we talk about fetishes today?

Wooo I WISH more people (if not all people) thought about + cared about the WHY behind what they themselves and other people like...
The WHY is the entire point for Me as a seeming Noetisexual [another example: if you don't know what that word means/is about, LOOK INTO IT ON YOUR OWN!]

40 years ago when I was asked what I was into, I would answer with a vague answer like, I want a girl to *** on me. Now if asked what my kinks are, I simply tell them it's more that I like than what I don't like. If pushed I'll list 5 or 6 of my fetishes. It's not a change in what people talk about, it's a change in the knowledge of what they're talking about. When I was a gender fluid male ***, there was no such thing as gender fluid. There was no Pride community. There was no community at all. I struggled through and learned what I could. Some I learned wrongly. But, I continue to explore, experiment, question and make up as I go. Because until I found this site 2 days ago, I was nearly as ignorant as I was 40 yrs ago. I just know now what I like and what I, well, what I like even more. So, don't blame the naive masses for not caring, the people in the life don't care because nobody has told them that they should. Those of you that have had this knowledge for many years, shoulder the blame for the massive amount of ignorance because you just sit back and joke amongst yourselves how bad that person is rather than stop them early on and sharing the knowledge. I don't say that to be hurtful or judgemental, but, to be eye-opening. Let's be proactive in making sure that our people are armed with the proper knowledge to be able to bring our lifestyle into a place of understanding, if not agreement, so that those in the community and those outside of it can safeguard against the hurtful characters that are playacting using our name and our lifestyle into disparagement.
