Types of subs

[si****]

It strikes me that there are at least two types of sub. The first has wants and desires, expresses them and submits to the dom to have them fulfilled. The second has no, or is unable to express, desires and wants, leaving the dom to take their pleasure. Are there other types of subs? Which are you and does that mean that there are at least two types of doms?

I think you are right just there are many reasons behind someone being a sub that makes a person a sub. I'm not sure where I fit. I know how to express my desires but they change with my Dom. Well I guess that is wrong, my desires are to fulfill my doms desires. I would brat out more when I sensed my Dom was stressing and needed to flog someone to relieve that stress.

[si****]

Ah, that might be a third type in my schematic, the sub desires to fulfill the desires of the dom

I feel that I may fall mostly into the first category with the caveat that I don't follow instructions blindly. And that has gotten me into trouble sometimes, but I can not submit just because someone else wants me to. There has to be mutual respect in the dynamic

A brat is the best of both worlds

In my fantasies I am a perfect sub. In reality I'm not good at it.

[si****]

Ah, I can understand the struggle to submit, I like that part of a dynamic.

Love that a brat is the best of both types 😃

I think the worst for me was someone lying to a grown adult about what’s they want and like. Then there’s the “lying sub” haha. The one whom says and says and says. But in reality is scared to fulfill them in person.

Dollard - exactly. I thought I knew someone, that we were on the same page and out of no where - everything switched - everything. Next time I see something like this, I won't get upset, I will simply say - thanks for your time and good luck.

I don’t think I’d categorize these subs as types of subs. These are more aligned with types of people in general. Some people require another person to pull things out of them. I’m not so sure they do this with malice nor deliberately.

Moods and settings change. Fantasies are fluid and can be influenced by one’s surroundings or environment including social media and visual entertainment. That includes the immediate setting.

Without previous experiences how does one truly know how they will react?

I can’t begin to get a grasp on how many types there must be or even a reliable way to quantify them.

This all is extremely interesting.

There are multiple types of subs. And if we open up to any role right of the slash, many many different characteristics and permutations

There are also multiple types of Dominants.

But kinds in your examples.
Yes, a simple "these are my desires, and I will submit to you and they will be fulfilled as part of that". Fair.

A sub who is unable to express... this is something where they need to work through these struggles.

No desires?! Doesn't exist. Even if the simplest is "I want to be with a Dominant who I trust" - that is a desire.
The main thing also is those who SAY they have no desires are hardest work cos there's less to actually work with on compatibility etc and also more chance they'll bail feeling it's not for them.

This doesn't, of course, mean that there are subs who value the Dominants wants/desires above their own - in itself, still a want/desire

You've somewhat oversimplified and generalised things OP in my honest opinion - and conflated types of subs, with personality types - either way there are as many different varieties of both things as there are people.
.
And before you even get to categorising you need to define what a submissive is as opposed to a bottom for example, or a masochist or any number of other sub-categories (no pun intended!!) - and that then becomes an impossible task as there are so many overlaps.
.
And that's before even starting on types of dominant.

There are many different types of submissive. I did start to list them out, but there are so many subcategories, it began to feel overwhelming. Even AI can list 8 distinct different types of submissive. The same is true for Dominants.

I don’t think you could count them if you tried, humans are complex and every sub differs in terms of how they express their submission. You could perhaps generalise between a service sub / rope bunny sub etc however you’ll also find those also overlap. Same goes for Dominants too, there are some overarching themes but can also interlink and connect. Of course not forgetting we are always evolving and changing too. 🤷‍♀️

I wholeheartedly agree.

I believe there are two types, to narrow down the genre. I wish I could be the submissive with no desire and want leaving the dom to take their pleasure.

"there are at least two types" is a crazy take when I comes to groups of humans
