She's not lost! but Built to Break Gently!

The heavy door shut with a click, cutting off the outside world. Courtney took a shaky breath, a small tremble running through them. The room smelled like clean leather and something sharp, like the air after a storm. Shadows filled the corners, while one strong light pointed at a big, soft chair.
A person stood up from the chair, moving slowly and calmly. They didn’t feel powerful in a loud way, but their presence filled the room. Their dark eyes met Courtney’s. They didn’t smile, just watched with quiet intensity.
“You came,” he said, their voice low and smooth.
Courtney tightened their grip on their bag. All the stress, control, and constant struggle they’d been carrying for so long suddenly felt heavy, like something they wanted to drop. But letting go felt just as scary.
“I did,” Courtney said softly. Their eyes moved around the room, but there was no easy way out, no escape back to the chaos they were used to.
He stepped closer, slowly. His footsteps were quiet, but Courtney could feel each one.
“You’re standing at a turning point, Courtney,” he said. “On one side, the life you know. On the other, something calm… but unknown.”
Courtney swallowed and looked back at them. “I’m tired of the chaos.”
“Are you tired enough to let it go?” he asked.
The question hung in the air.
A chill ran down Courtney’s back. Every instinct told them to stay in control, to protect themselves. But deep down, they wanted to let go.
“I don’t know how,” Courtney whispered. Saying it felt like giving up a piece of their control.
He reached out his hand, stopping just before touching Courtney’s face. The warmth from it was enough to feel.
“Trust isn’t given,” he said, softer now but still firm. “It’s built slowly. But the first step has to come from you. Right here. Right now.”
Courtney’s eyes filled with tears. The weight of the moment, the choice in front of them, felt overwhelming. They were used to fighting alone, always staying in control. Now, that control felt more like a cage.
“Show me,” Courtney finally said, barely able to get the words out. “Show me how to trust you.”
A small smile appeared on his face, changing their expression just slightly, less intense, and more certain.
“You already have,” he said.

THIS! I'm hoping to find this.

Well written and really good. This is coming from an audiobook narrator.

Beautiful, and expertly written! To have such intimacy and sensuality without a moment of sexual description ... Truly 💋🤌 . . . Bravo.
