Define spanking. Honestly impact play is as wide and diverse a subject as kink itself. But if your starting out build up from light over the knee, to a flogger, to crops to paddles to canes. Check that she is happy with the strength at strokes only moving up when she's ready

Some things/implements require more expertise than others, and part of the joy will be exploring what you both get out of it, and what you like the most. OTK (over the knee) and bare handed are the most accessible and arguably the most intimate, allowing for lots of body contact and touch. Start slowly and build up a little, you can always take breaks to check in with her, engage in other - ahem - activities and perhaps check on its effects (which is normally quite an incentive for the spanker).
