Susan opened her mouth to scream
A strong, gloved hand clasped across her mouth muffling her voice..

'Don't be boring!'

She felt something cold and sharp tracing her spine

'Hands!'

The voice wasn't angry, it's was direct, emotionless. Not a request or a threat, an order.

Susan complied, bringing her hands behind her back. a length on silken rope bound her hands tightly but not ***fully, the hallmark of a practiced rigger.

He wrapped a length of fabric around her eyes. She stumbled slightly in the darkness, her captor pulled up on the rope, bringing her back onto her feet.

'Walk!'

Susan complied..

----

When her vision returned she looked around, a completely different, unfamiliar part of the wood. She wasn't alone..

'I'm going to remove your bonds, do not try to run'

She felt her bonds being loosened, her brain flashed the idea of running but she didn't.

She felt a sharp tug on the back of her head, causing her to tilt her neck up

she saw him, her captor, she recognised the shoulders and forearms grasping her hair. However his face, bearded but neutral, unaffected, emotionless. His brown eyes ***ring deep into her very essence, evaluating her.

'Here's the deal..
When I release you, you run.
You get a 1 minute headstart
Try to reach the road..
If you make it, i'll give you this back..'

He showed her her phone.

'Then, you can stay, or go. Up to you
But, if I catch you..
You play my game
Understood?'

Susan nodded her head, she was in no position to argue

He released her wrists, pushing her forward slightly.

'Go!'

Adrenaline filled her body, she ran faster than she'd ever ran before stumbling over her impractical footwear. She cast it aside before starting to run again.

She didn't know where she was going; she didn't care, her body was powered by *** and intense excitement. She was the rabbit; being pursued by the wolf through the meadow, the fox hunted by the baying hounds.
She had no idea how long she'd been running, her mind was numb, there was nothing except her breath and her feet sifting through the loose autumn leaves.

Then, she saw it. The road, she'd reached the edge. Her waning strength renewed and she sprinted for the end of the road.

As she was about to cross the threshold, she felt her head once again being jolted back. Her legs failed her and she fell face first into the crisp dead leaves, so close to freedom but captured all the same..

'Pathetic!'

This reminds me of a great piece I once read called The Hunt.
