Tantra and Kink

The whole concept of Tantra has been bastardised. It literally means "weave" or "expansion". It’s a set of spiritual practices (from Hindu and Buddhist traditions) focused on consciousness, energy, and awakening — not just sex.
However it has a deep relevance to the kink community whole establishing connection , finding the same wavelength and finding the spiritual mental and bodily awakening.
So question for you all - what has been your experience with balancing Kink and Tantra ? How could the whole community benefit from its core concepts ?

I'd love to learn more about tantra. I know next to nothing!

Plenty of text online . To explore it - you don’t need a partner , just you, yourself and nature .

Sadly when people hear the word tantra just think about sex or a massage with happy ending when tantra is a whole different thing.

I went to a Tantra S***d Date from Tantrany. It really resonated with me, connecting with "strangers" in a fairly intimate/deep, also nonverbal way.

To me, tantra is like cutting to the chase. Bypassing perceived social obligations and limitations, and feeling/going through the moment in itself without judgment or goal. It's a form of loving meditation and appreciation for life and presence that I feel is missing from today's rational society.

Tantra is a set of gymnastics rings. The crux is very simple; the implementation, basic; the exercise, extremely shaky and prone to willing one into "cheating the basic form"... but for those with the discipline to ensure the unfamiliar places those exposed weaknesses take you to, it is enlightening, emboldening, enhancing in ways that few others really grasp.

Sex masquerading as tantra is working the rings with your feet on the ground. You can say you did it, sure; but what did you actually gain from it?

Interestingly enough, if you expound on the concept of tantra, it becomes an awareness of the weave of interconnectivity and a tool to expand one's conscious beyond duality. In this aspect, I feel like this culture has its own "tantra", already. In some ways, it's very much the same: meditation, mantras/affirmations and breathing techniques are common tools among both with the greater goal of self actualization - becoming the best Self. It does differ though as tantra strives to achieve a realm without duality, while the BDSM culture (and greater kink culture, perhaps) celebrates duality, especially that of control and surrender, and the many ways it is expressed from casual tops and bottoms, to dominant and submissives, not to overlook sadists and masochists or owners and property (and the list goes on). Of course, our tenets are also similar and different, both with a focus of self awareness, but personally, I feel this culture puts more value on the necessity of communication, rather than the silent mastery of doctrine and tradition. Rather than a philosophy of transcending the flesh into a cosmic awareness, the philosophy is that of finding oneself and how we most naturally endeavor interpersonal interactions, intimately and communally.

Thank you for bringing (non)duality into this, I think that confirms to me why I'm gravitating more towards tantra than BDSM/kink. 🙏

I think seeing the truth and finding an understanding of yourself and even further acceptance of the self are all pretty hard concepts for people to grasp in general. Lots of people get tripped up along the way, and nobody is ever really finished on their journey in these things. It's part of why I think just going to see a therapist is something you never really stop.

When I think of something "tantric" I think of... finding the deeper connection? If whatever it is. In this case, between two people? Being primal and raw and *** and connecting on some level far beyond what people allow in casual everyday interactions. It's something intentional that you seek and strive to reach, regardless of what the outcome ultimately is. Two people willingly and intentionally seeking that deeper connection for the sake of healing, pleasure, or whatever other individual reasoning you want to personally assign it.

Awhhh what a wonderful topic thank you for bringing it to light!!

The balance that is found within and shared with all..

We all desire connections!

A moment of similar vibrations and kinetic energy..

To truly read your partner…

it’s very erotic to simply just breath touch, massage, and share healing thoughts / energy’s, to be aware without words, unconditional love.. respect!..

Pleasure can be found so deeply within the mind so can healing or endless orgasmic moments!

Tantra on the sexual side is fun!!
One of is..
A practice of breathing and masterbation and teaching and reaching a level of orgasmic pleasure that just keeps going.. without a physical release.. !!
repeat repeat repeat… days weeks or months even!

Then when you’re ready and you cant take it anymore!! Then cum… 💦it will be just ecstasy for the mind and body!

Please look up …the human mind attached to a MRI machine while having an orgasm!!

its fireworks and rainbows!

On the other side look up Buddhist monks attached to a MRI exposures to extreme cold temperatures.. tantra breathing techniques!

We all have the ability with in!

It just takes practice..
