Blackout lenses, anyone?

Hi all,

Do any of you have experience with blackout lenses?
Lately I came across them multiple times and my interest got peaked. I have goggles and no lenses, so no experience wearing any.

- is it different to a more traditional blindfold?
- how opaque are they?
- is it worth it?

Please no direct Links. Wouldn't want any of you get into trouble. Thanks for any feedback!

I've heard that the white opaque (not checkerboard mesh) is effectively blinding...all you see is white. It's definitely a goal to find out for ourselves.

I have seen blackout lenses on a few occasions used for total sensory deprivation therapies and couldn't help notice that they looked almost identical to a set of Oakley's. I also convert camper vans and recently installed privacy glass windows but needed them a bit more "private". Putting 2+2 together, I gave it a try.
