Deep in the heart of Austin’s alternative nightlife, SHRINE has become one of Texas’s most distinctive kink parties — inclusive, consent-forward, and curated for voyeurs, kinksters, fetishists, LGBTQIA+ folks, poly people, and the simply curious. SHRINE is produced by the Shrine team and held at colette Austin, a swingers club that hosts the event once a month on Sunday nights. For SHRINE nights, entry includes a colette membership for that night, so you don’t need a separate colette membership to attend.
Unlike a private dungeon you rent by the hour, SHRINE operates as a ticketed community event with its own door rules, hours, and vibe. Dates shift around U.S. holiday weekends (the goal is that most people have Monday off), and doors typically run 6:30 PM–1:00 AM (until 2:00 AM on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends). Expect a welcoming crowd, theatrical ambiance, and a wide spectrum of play styles — with the reminder they “never bite without consent.”
Community education and safety are built in. SHRINE trains Dungeon Monitors (DMs) and requires DM volunteers to complete a dedicated DM class; all DMs must hold current CPR/AED certification. The training is open to new and veteran kinksters and is designed to improve understanding of how monitored play spaces work, keeping scenes fun, safe, and uninterrupted.
If you want to meet people and chat through scenes before the party, SHRINE hosts a recurring Austin Munch — a casual, vanilla meetup usually held the Wednesday before SHRINE at The Hideout Pub (12164 TX-1 Loop). Look for hosts in SHRINE shirts or badges on the back porch, grab a drink, and talk shop before you play. (21+, streetwear only.)
SHRINE’s house logistics are clear: it’s 18+ only; SHRINE is the event and colette is the venue; and attendance requires following event rules and colette’s basic check-in procedures for SHRINE nights. There’s a formal check-in agreement for “any Shrine Event hosted at colette Austin.”
If you’re looking for the best BDSM clubs in Austin, walking into SHRINE feels like stepping into the city’s myth made real — low light, pulsing sound, and a room full of people who respect boundaries as much as they crave intensity. It’s not a rent-by-the-hour dungeon; it’s a community-run, safety-monitored kink party that blends spectacle with consent culture. For dates, FAQs, volunteer opportunities, and munch info, start with the official site’s calendar and pages.
