Life in a Covid world - A new dawn

[Deleted Member]

Firstly my apologies to all you beautiful people outside the UK. I recognise this is written for my part of the world. However we will all soon have our day as the world reopens. Due to this I hope my words resonate for all

Life in a Covid world - A new dawn

The path out of lockdown Boris decrees
Removing the sword of the Greek Damocles
The light now visible in a tunnel once dark
One can almost hear the lone meadowlark

Freedom so near but still unable to touch
Precious and close yet still evading our clutch
Now we can think of the joys life beholds
How we enter the light once lockdown unfolds

How to celebrate, a gorgeous new dawn
One up to now so desperate, forlorn
Isolation and suffering will soon disappear
New freedom awaits no longer unclear

Make plans now and countdown those days
Quickly discard life general malaise
For a new world awaits and I invite you all in
No longer devoid of your lustful sin

Make a new list of the pleasure you seek
And tell the world or keep them discreet
What you do with the list is of no real concern
it’s your passion and freedom to treasure and  yearn

Top drawer again, the first part I think was the best poem I've read on here.

My mind read this as though a bard in tight stockings & loose patchwork tunic recanted a tale of years gone by on his lute... but the content echoes our everyday lives.

Haunting & identifiable; what a pleasant read!

Once again I shall fetch those tight stockings and patchwork tunic from my draw my sweet and dress accordingly lol.

I truly adore your kind words and so thank you for taking the time to read and then comment. 😘😘
