The Chat Rules

The Fetish.com chat is intended for kinksters to get to know each other. With any online service, there is some level of risk when talking with others over the internet. When asking for advice in the chat, we cannot assume any responsibility for any information that you may encounter during your chat session.

We ask that you respect others. We don't make you guess about what's considered appropriate or inappropriate on Fetish.com, so take a quick look below at the dos and don'ts. Bear in mind that our Terms and Conditions should be respected at all times.

Use of the chat rooms

Distinctions between the Kink and BDSM communities means that we've created spaces to accommodate them. Here’s a brief explanation of the rooms:

  • Lobby - Open chat for anyone to drop in and introduce themselves. Perfect for general chit-chat, kinky or not!
  • BDSM Lovers - For those living and loving BDSM lifestyles. When entering this room, please adhere to etiquette and protocols like you would if out in your local dungeon/BDSM club.
  • Kinksters and Fetishists - Chat room for those in the kink community who want to get to know other fetishists. Remember, My Kink is Not Your Kink But That’s Okay! Find out about kink and fetishes in a fun, relaxed way.

Chat moderation

Our chat rooms are moderated by FETMods, trained volunteers to help keep the chat safe, respectful and to ensure the rules are followed. Although it might not always be apparent that a moderator is visible, if you experience any issues with any other user while using the chat, please use the ‘Call Chat-Op’ tool. If no moderator is available, please always ‘Report’ the user in question so that our support team can take further action. Additionally, you have the 'Block' feature at your disposal to block the user and avoid escalating a situation.

Respect others

Don’t be a troll. Differences of opinion are welcomed as long as it’s done respectfully.

No spamming or advertising

Big no, no. If you want to advertise, contact our advertising department. Be aware and report any users asking for money.

No posting of private contact details

Please do not share any contact details in a public chat room. Only share contact details in a private message. Bear in mind that this is at your own risk and Fetish.com doesn’t take any form of responsibility.

No requesting pic swaps

If you're looking to swap pics, the chat isn't the place to do this. Please create a personal ad or use the browse feature to contact others directly that you like the look of.

No personal ads

If you're looking to make contact with other kinksters for meetups or for any kind of relationship, please use the personal ad instead of the chat.

No harassing other members

C’mon, since when has harassing people been cool? No means No and boundaries should be respected.

Only live-stream from your personal cam

Please don’t use another source other than your webcam or phone camera in the video chat, whether it's public or private. Only live-streams are allowed, no recordings.

No requesting money

Even if you insinuate that you want or need money, you will be warned once. If you persist, you’ll be permanently banned. Bottom line - keep topics relating to money out of the chat - this also applies to Dominatrix accounts.

No inflammatory racial, religious or political language

Does what it says on the tin. Inflammatory language will result in being kicked out and possibly banned from Fetish.com - this also applies to public chat rooms that you create yourself.

No role play in public rooms

As our chat rooms are visible to all kinksters on Fetish.com, please refrain from any role play. Upgraded kinksters can open a private room and agree the terms of play between individual users. Free users can join role play chat rooms, but they cannot create them.

Opening chat rooms

With an upgrade, members can open private chat rooms. When selecting a name for your room, be welcoming and respectful, please don't use any special characters. Kinksters are not allowed to open a room in the name of other users. When you open a room, you're responsible for it. Please be tolerant and treat everyone as you would in real life.

No excessive swearing

We all love the word "fuck" but try to keep your cursing to a minimum.

No ‘flooding’ or unnecessary repetition

Interrupting the flow of the chat sessions with the use of large fonts, capital letters, repetitive typing or other forms of flooding isn’t cool.

GIFs in the chat

Please note, that the following GIFs are not allowed:
  • No GIFs of illegal drug use and paraphernalia.
  • No NSFW GIFs of any kind.
  • No police or armed force insignia. (exceptions: role play uniforms with fake badges are permitted).
  • No weapons and/or offensive vocabulary.
  • No GIFs of violent acts to yourself, someone else, or animals.
  • No GIFs including blood or scat.
  • No GIFs that incites racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind.

A kind request

So that everyone can be understood, please use English in the chat - this is because our FETmods operate in English only. Thanks for understanding.

Lastly…

If you’re asked to stop, by either a moderator or another member, do. Being offensive will never be tolerated, and all moderator decisions are final. We love having you around, so allow us to keep you!
