What is the point of it? You have 365 days to be stupid with loved ones, so what's the point of a "special" day,

Corporate profits!  Hallmark stock, especially, experiences a spike.  Sell stock on the 14th...buy-back on the 15th.  Oh, and there's all that half-priced candy on the 15th.

I totally agree with this you big bunch of miseries 😂 yes it is commercialised but what’s wrong with having one day when it’s alllll about spoiling people & if you’re single then there’s nothing wrong with a bit of ‘self love’ 😉

Haven't heard that saying for a long time 'self love' :hearts_around:

Valentines also allows people who find pampering people an excuse to do it with out feeling awkward about it

Its for people to have fun and enjoy time with someone special

Why would you ban a season to spread love? Love comes in all shapes and sizes and it doesn't necessarily have to be for your other half it could be your mom, dad, ***, brother, nan, grandad etc or if your like me the dogs 😂 isn't it just a chance to remind the people who are closest to you that you love them and are thankful for them? Tho I won't be celebrating valentine's Day on the 14th this year for personal reasons doesn't mean im not celebrating it on a different day and sending all my family presents and making sure to give them a huge hug (even tho my brother's will surely not want one but I don't care lol )

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone for next week ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

the thing also; you can partake in it without commercialism.  Restaurants etc. may have specials but generally aren't more expensive anyway, so it's just a prompt for a date night

you can be creative with gifts

a couple of years ago I wrote a bunch of poems for people I liked.  Cost = nil.

And you ought to see what a bunch of red roses goes for over here!
