CORONAVIRUS & BDSM: Is it dominating you?

So, unless you've been living on a remote island for the past few months, you've probably heard that there's a nasty virus dubbed Coronavirus – proper term, Covid-19 – spreading across the world. I wonder if this has made you change your habits when it comes to meeting up for BDSM play? Are you going out less to get a good spanking? Are dungeons feeling particularly empty right now? Are you being more careful in your sex life?

Basically, is Coronavirus dominating you?

BRB, just grabbing my hand sanitiser...

Knowing my luck, i already had it months ago before it was as well known as it is today. I remember thinking "this flu is knocking me for a 6"

Like an idiot i still went to work because i thought its just a flu and got on with life....

But Corona Virus should be taken seriously. Here is some facts laid bare for all to see with a video from SciShow

I'm self isolating already, have been for the last 2 weeks. Can't really trust what the government or media tells you, because they lie too much about everything. So why would this be any different on this. They don't have control of the situation and don't know what to do about it. Telling people that masks are ineffective, but they need them for the medical staff, tells you all you need to know ....just got to look out for yourself because nobody else will...stay safe

It hasn't changed me or my habits - although the soap shortages in shops have left me wondering just how many people weren't already washing their hands! 😱

My health isn't great so I'm probably one of the more "***" people if I were to catch it, but I'm not worried. I'm still more likely to recover than not IF I did catch it. I can't be doing with all the panic and ***. The world faces far more serious issues, and this is just the latest distraction. Our reaction to it is far more dangerous than the virus itself.

No... it is business as usual for me, life must go on. I'll keep washing my hands the same as ever, maybe a little more if I'm attending a large public event such as I did last night, remain aware and conscious, and watch for change.

Interesting question really but we can’t just be afraid of living either. Taking precautions but not allowing it to change my plans just yet

Honestly, no it isn’t changing the way I kink at all...Had a play session last Saturday and the Goddess who hosted is very particular about hygiene almost to a clinical level..as long as you follow guidelines about hand hygiene most people will be fine and remember that session influenza kills more people annually than the tally for this one which the levels of severity vary from person to person....basically don’t panic people

....but stay away from imported ‘fresh’ produce especially fish

Nope. Still going out to this weekend to do some spanking. Someone has to punish those naughty subs. Can't let a little pandemic stop us.

Couldn't care less lol. A 3% percent death rate is just a joke, especially when it's vastly people over 60

Posted

Not in the slightest. When we play we always wash beforehand and make sure our kit is clean, don't we ?

Posted

How is a 3%death rate a joke. That would be 2 million of the UK population. Not saying that that would happen, but your comment is what's a joke.

I’d stopped playing for other reasons, but I’d be wary of meeting up with a new person atm. Not for my own health, but because I don’t want to risk spreading it to *** people.

Being in health care by profession it’s not stopped me. People just need to use their common sense. Hygiene in this or any activity should be routine irregardless. If you do have any doubts whatsoever don’t play

I'm housebound so I'm not overly worried about it. My Mistress does go out but she really isn't worried about it either so it's not stopping us.  She prefers to indulge in her kinks than watch the news. ***porn isn't her thing 😂

Ooooh, you're wicked, you are!  Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more! :jumping:

Point to ponder, good Aranhis - nothing's changed at this address, either.  I'll be in Sydney on Saturday, in one of the alleged 'cluster' areas and...? I'm still going.  I've got a Herculean immune system, due to a life long allergy to antibiotics.  All kidding aside, I'm currently ashamed of my fellow Australians and their obsessive FOMO,  hoarding enough whatnot-wiper to rebuild the ***y Great Wall of China.  There's no need for it, and antics in the supermarket aisles have made the news all over the world.  Behaviour like that is NOT the Australian way. Fortunately there were some ripper jokes on eBay - such as the tastefully framed single sheet of loo paper, with the banner 'YES!  It's 2-PLY!! And you get both PLIES!" or the container full of 'Natural Toilet Paper -Biodegradable!' - and a photo of a takeaway food container full of moss.  And free postage, too!  It was up for auction - on Sunday evening it had reached 7.50, with 6 bidders.  And I am NOT wearing a ***y mask - had enough of those in the Treasure Hunt!

Well only 15.83% of the Uk population is over 60 so let's say 16%. That is 9.6m and the 3% percent of that is 228k, assuming that all of them get infected which is not gonna be the case. It's spreading extremely slow and the cure will be found soon

I think it's important to try to continue as normal but also to be both respectful and responsible.

So - it's true - all in the UK will not catch it and many who do will not be in figures because they won't show symptoms so will just be a carrier.

If the rate of infection is kept slow then it increases the chances of this strain of the virus to die out - or to struggle

it is both more infectious and more fatal than flu - fatal mostly due to the lack of a cure.  A cure is not expected to be found this year.  They are looking for volunteers for human trials - but this is still a process that takes months.

Dismissing things as "not many people will die" is kinda cold - it's still an increase in the death rate to people who probably shouldn't be dying just yet.

-

That said, health advice is to carry on - and I think that's the best thing, but certainly to be vigilant in keep washing hands and also being responsible enough to self isolate if you show symptoms.

I've been invited to a bdsm event that I really would like to attend, but have decided that it would be irresponsible at this point to risk it. Very frustrating to say the least.

well, I had a phone call today from someone who is mulling halting attending kink events and doing kink activities and this was someone I was due to film with : we agreed to both keep monitoring, I'm also wary about an event

I've seen other kink events cancelled and due to the intimate nature, I can see more to follow

I have to say I'm actually quite anxious now, I don't usually get affected by much but I think this is going to be serious throughout April. I won't be attending any event Kink or otherwise.
