You can only gift someone an icon if they haven’t found any. The icon is selected randomly when you gift them. You can reclaim that icon by going to the same place where you originally found it. To gift the icon, go the person’s profile and you will see the option there.

Icons are hidden all over the FET Universe, you can hunt for them on your own, or you can use the clues in this treasure hunt thread which will hint you where to look, decipher the clues and then go hunting and if you are in the right place you will find an icon overlapped on the screen that you can tap on and it will collect in your treasure chest. On the app the icons are circles in shape and on the website they are square and both have a small picture within. Currently there are 17 icons available to collect. One new icon will be released each day at at 11am(UK), 12pm(CET), 7am(ET). You can find further details in the OP.
