locally, we never had more!

I guess the thing a little is if you are in a region which USED to have more and now doesn't - the question is why, what changed?

I think what you're saying, while very true, has little to do with kink/BDSM and very much to do with internet at large. Internet used to be an actual NET of PEOPLE. Because companies/bots/ai didn'y have the proper automated tools to f**k it up the same way they had already f**ked up streets IRL/radio/TV/etc.

When I grew up, the streets, old jazz community radio channels, TV channels had already basically been replaced by billboards. And the web was actual people making websites about they enjoyed, be it BDSM or anything else. And the same thing (turning a free space of community into a commercial platform) which took decades to happen to other walks of life happened in 15 years online, because the tools at the disposal of companies (social networks/community managers/cookies/unskippable ads) had just become so much more efficient.

I believe BDSM is merely one of a hundred thousand communities which was trashed by the evolution of internet for now. Same as HAM radio, or amateur organic chemistry. But as soon as a new free space will be discovered, a new bowl of fresh air will come to it. Before getting trashed by companies all over again and so on.

Diamont is right. It’s the digital panopticon we’re all stuck up in, self-satisfied with deflated chests.

It's definitely changed a lot over the last 10 years.

Nobody socializes in-person anymore. If it's just a purely social munch, no activities, then nobody shows up. This goes for anything, not just kink, the only way people show up is if there's some kind of activity, which they use to avoid actually socializing face-to-face. If there's social mingling time before/after the "activity", people only talk to those they already know and nobody new. If there's nobody they know, they just straight leave most of them. The ones that don't, if you just say hello or try to talk to anybody, they just stare at you like a deer in the headlights.

Even then, there's a lot less events where I am, mostly because people quit showing up. Nobody wants munches either, they want parties, but there's no venues here to have them and nobody wants to host. The only events that do come up, are hotel swinger and g@@ng-bang nbsp;s3x events. Anything actually social is rare and when it is, nobody shows up and the ones that do, don't socialize at all.

Online is even worse. Everything has become "Redditified" in that nobody socializes online either. The few real people that aren't bots, are all self-absorbed "karma farming". Everyone thinks they're a writer or model, only post for likes and attention. Post anything real or try to have real discussion and it's 99% responded to with sarcasm and snark. And that's again across everything, not just kink.

But specific to kink, aside from actual kink dying, it's pretty much 99% unicorn-hunters and swingers and vanillas, very few legit kink-minded people, at least online.

Dude! I really love your comment! Much respect. The few munches I’ve been to presently felt just like that. I’ve considered many times of hosting parties and events but I’ve seen too many times the effort in planning (not to mention the cost) all going to waste because people’s motives for attendance don’t match the purpose of the event. And don’t get me started on moving to a new area and trying to integrate into the embedded circles of the community. No one welcomes people anymore. They don’t believe in friendship or camaraderie between like minded people.

Honestly, I came on here expecting to find like-minded people maybe chat a bit and see where things went. I consider myself a decent person with good values and morals, especially when it comes to treating people with respect and kindness.

Instead, what I’ve found is bots, a fair amount of karma farming, prostitution, and an overall lack of genuine communication from anyone outside of this thread. 😆

That said, I am enjoying this discussion, and I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. I’ve already canceled my subscription because, frankly, it just isn’t worth it. Unless some miracle happens and an actual person shows up, someone who isn’t karma farming, and we genuinely connect on a real level rather than just looking for “cyber***,” I’ll probably move on.

At the end of the day, my time is valuable, and I have plenty of hobbies that I actually enjoy.

Speaking of which, I’m off to water my garden. ✌🏻

Correct. I haven’t made one real connection on this app in years. Nothing but bots and scammers or call girls that seem like cops or scammers.

I know what you mean! I met a woman on here who just told me she wanted *** for be our next get together.I’ve not paid for p**sy since I was in the navy.
