I would like to know about local munch location…💋

Would love to go to one, but I don't know where they are and it's really difficult for me to go into a new situation without someone I know who can make sure I don't get caught up in something I shouldn't be.

there is an events page on here but also fetlife's search features will bring up a more localised one catering for your local.

I like the idea but that would be an anxiety nightmare for me. I’d either not actually leave the house or stand outside the place for a while them go home.

If it helps any, most are and should be like a normal gathering of people you see in any pub, meeting place etc.  No fetish equipment on show etc.  Normally in the UK the thing that stands out is an A-Z on a table to point to the event organisers.  It literally is like being in a pub with a small group of friends.

Most good organised ones will have an early meet and greet for new people, 30-45 mins before the others arrive, so it is less daunting and should help with any anxiety issues.  There should be contact information for those that do offer this aspect of a munch to make arrangements and allay and ***s you may have.

I don’t know of any near me so I’ve never been to one but I’d love to try if I could find out but everything always happens in Manchester and my mum doesn’t like me to go there so I’m screwed

I used to attend ones not only in Mancs down canal area at the time, daytime munch was well attended and run, But Leeds and Sheffield used to hold monthly daytime meets quite close to the train stations, might be worth a look to see if they are still advertising.  It's been quite a while since i was last down that way so a tad out of touch.

There are a few in Sheffield which I will eventually get the county go to but if getting into Manchester is an issue then Sheffield probably isn’t possible either.

is it Manchester specifically she didn’t like ?

I’m a big fan of munches. I like going to virtual munches and if I’m in a town that’s not my own. I may see if there’s a much happening that day. I use munches as vetting spaces. If male submissive won’t go to a much then we Won’t be talking

I am a fan of munches and have attended mixed kink munches, FemDom munches and a few munch & play times. All were fun socially, so that going to fetish events I would bump into munch attendees and continue chatting.

During covid I logged into online munches and we all had  giggle, though I still prefer face-to-face munches, snowy weather means visual chat happens.

In terms if where to find munch listings go on fetlife and the ones near you show first. Click a second tab at the top of the page and further a field munches show.

Well I’m still in the same position I was last year. That’s a bit depressing that it’s been over a year.

They're social gatherings for kinksters - usually held in a pub or bar and are usually purely social and a chance to meet like minded people.

Munches are usually at a restaurant when at a bar in the evenings meeting for just drinks they're often called a Slosh. Vanilla social gatherings in vanilla spaces for kinksters to casually socialize. Some areas even have meets for coffee, karaoke, or board game nights.

They are *not* meant for finding a partner or trying to meet someone to pick up or date. While this can and does happen it's organic through socializing and making friends first. People who go to munches specifically to "meet someone" are off putting to most other attendees.

you will get quite a few munches, especially ones i know in the UK that hold "Newbie half hour" etc for those new or first time attendees, to feel more comfortable and not swamped by the regulars.  Which can be intimidating for most and over the years, came across loads who just refused to attend because of the anxiety.  So worth looking at some where the organisers offer this, it also helps you get introduced as the regulars start arriving and helps stop that being a wallflower feeling.

I’m a big fan of munches. I use them to vet s\types. Although I do enjoy the primarily social munch, I really like the munches that have an educational component to them like a general topic of discussion or the munch is a specific type example , protocol Munch

That’s something I wasn’t aware of, nice to know.
