Took a bdms test online came out as a switch is that boring in the bdsm community ? As I'm just coming to the terms master and slave ? Bottom and top ?

I wouldn't say it's boring. If anything it gives you more options. I'm a switch, sometimes I switch it up with the same partner or sometimes I'm a dom to one but a sub with someone else. I personally like the versatility of it.

nothing is boring as such

but, don't read too much into BDSM tests - go/learn where you feel more comfortable and let things develop

A switch is a rare thing.. people come into BDSM looking to learn, as humans some of us learn by doing "wonder what it feels like to be whipped" "that person looks like they enjoy being stood on" so we try new things with everyone who offers.. thats called sub/Dom frenzy..

But i think over time we pick a side of the slash and with such limited time we realise that being a switch isnt always great if you prefer one ovet the other.. and like me you might find that the more you research, the more you realise what you actually  identify as. So i think most people coming from Vanilla land are switches because society tells us equality is sharing responsability and taking turns.. but i think over time there are less and less switches as you get deeper and deeper into BDSM.

So no, its not boring.. its rare, and probably rough to know which head space to be in

I don't agree that switches are that rare.  If we go back a bit there was a time when people were expected to be one or the other - so there'd often be individuals who were seen in one role in public and another in private.

But also.  There are a number of ladies I know who switch who don't make it clear that they switch in order to minimise some of the stupid contact from guys.   I also know both men and women who switch - who - perhaps have a required reputation to be seen in one role, but enjoy the other in a private relationship.

I do actually think a lot of people do approach the kink scene with an idea - because perhaps they've seen/read some form of erotica (be it full blown porn, to any form of book or film with kink element) and they see themselves in one role or another.

Hi and welcome. No being a switch isnt boring, it's simply who you are. As said previously I wouldn't put too much store in the BDSM test thing, as you continue your progress into the lifestyle you will learn more about what you like and what you dont. You may find you prefer to be one side of the slash or the other or you may find you continue to switch either way is good and definitely not boring
