Tie some quick release panic hooks into your shibari art if you want to do some suspension.

If gagged and restrained we use a combination of opening and closing the hand and three noises (“uh uh uh”) as non-verbal safe words. Works to have two options for situations in which you miss the visual hand signal or can’t hear the noises because you’re in a noisy club scene. Quick release hooks are a good shout for any restraints, not just shibari. A good tip learned the hard way: always check the keys work before using anything with a lock. Know which way the lock works: does it fail open or fail closed? So if it breaks will it never be able to lock again, or never be able to open again. Restraints which fail open are much safer. Shears in a really visible place anyone can see for any rope play. Ideally one visible, and one on you. No heels if someone is restrained, and definitely not for arms restrained above the head. Subs.with lower *** pressure can get lightheaded with arms raised leading to fall hazards.
I watched a great interview between Mindori and Danarama yesterday and they talked about consent. What both or all players are consenting to whether in private or on a film set. Super informational. An interesting safe word option to use “mercy” which means “yellow” to slow things down in a performance setting or if it fits into the role play.

I thought that was a great safety tool to note.

Make sure to use verbal and non verbal safe words, especially if ur into breath play and headlocks. I do 1 tap on the shoulder for hard er 3 taps for stop

I still don't get the point of it so what you guys been like you know half your time wrestling and doing stuff that we used to do in PT? Guess its not my thing...

I check in multiple times even if a safeword wasn't used. It's adds to the tension and draws everything out

Light system and check ins. So safe word we all know about that. Red. That's a red light. Stop. Yellow is slow down. Green is go go go this is awesome! For me, I forget to use my words in sub space so I need to be prompted. He will maybe try something new or rougher or different and say "what color?" Or something to ask me to use my colors. My words. It's good for a sub that either gets lost in the moment or might be overwhelmed but does not want to stop. Also I enjoy bondage. Still to this day I keep safety scissors in my play space. If I say red everything stops. But if I need it, we can also cut ropes. Get me out quick! Rope is cheap, cut that shit if you need to. Just knowing the scissors are there helps me. And talk! A lot! Before and after every scene.

Mac€, a tas$er, and a kn!fe. Some people don’t understand consent right from the get-go

Edit: To be clear, this isn’t me being aggressive, this is me being ***d into a position of self-defense.

Safety scissors have been know to fail especially if you're doing suspension. Get a seat belt cutter & test it out. Also keep an appropriately stocked 1st aid kit. Doing fire, throw burn cream in it, doing perforation throw in bzk & bacitracin. Lastly, if you're doing pick-up play or with a new play partner, schedule a follow-up chat after play because drop can take a few days.

Some really great advice! Thank you.

I incorporate quick release knots and both tell them where its at before tying em up and after they are secured in position I physically remind them if they neef it that they are within fingers reach because I am a CAVEMAN in the moment and dont know how to be gentle so if needed its within their reach and power to free themselves and they work quite well

It's super simple if you follow some basic guidelines.

Red=Stop
Yellow=Slower/Gentle
Green=Don't stop

Now, with your partner/partners, take into account all the scenes you might play and adjust accordingly.

Verbal
Physical
Motionless
Are the big ones!

Colors are easy but mainstream... I like to be different.
For Example: Verbal
Yellow you say "Daddy, you're too much." This way, it can be used in public setting as well and for 24/7 D/s instead of just saying Yellow.

Physical
When you can't talk but don't want to or to be subtle. Maybe squeezing something twice can be Yellow and multiple squeezes for red.
So, in an extreme scene, it would feel like a heartbeat for Yellow and like you're having a seizure for red.
Now the most important one of them all.

Motionless
You have someone who is gagged and tied.
Most people forget to think of this one, and that's how dangerous accidents happen.
Number of eye blinks, certain moans or sequence of noises made, or small movements of hands, fingers, and neck. Maybe an object like someone suggested a squeaky toy in hand during scene are all things to discuss with your partners'.

I haven't found the right person to come up with delicious and discreet ideas for the safe words, but this is my guideline to making them.

OP I love the thought and consideration about nudes and understanding how serious of an issue it is!! 💖
