Advice needed. New to kink

Hi. Any advice is much appreciated.
 

I’m a gay male who has always basically had vanilla sex. Fetishes never really crossed my mind, but I started dating someone who told me that he is into rubber.  I really like the guy, but unfortunately, things ended before we ever explored anything sexually kinky.

The thing is, I actually AM curious about kink, and have a feeling that I would really get into rubber. Or leather. Or puppy play. Or something. I just don’t really know what.

 I watched two porn videos in rubber. One really did it for me, the other didn’t. The one that did it for me was definitely  filthier, and had some skin exposed - not full bodysuit.

But in person, I’m not like that at all. All this has never been on my radar. I have no one to talk to about this, and I feel like I‘m having a minor identity crisis. I don’t know where to meet people. I don’t know how to even go about exploring. I don’t even know exactly what I’m “into.”

But I suddenly really find myself less interested in vanilla.
