First Meeting - A Poem

She was so gorgeous that I stood stunned. 

As I saw her standing looking at her phone.

I was glad to have a moment to collect myself. 

To take my heart out of my mouth and replace it where it should be.

Beating wildly as I approached the woman I knew so well,

For the first time in the flesh.

Then as I stood behind her, I could smell her scent.

She was of course still engrossed in her cell phone.

Strangely, reaching out to tap her shoulder was hard to do,

It broke the line from fantasy to reality.

She was fantastical standing there, and she was mine.

I tapped, and she turned with fire in her eyes that melted instantly.

Changing to a deep suffusion of happiness and love tinged with relief.

A hue that matched mine perfectly.

As we held one another, I think I breathed out fully for the first time.

Literally breath taking, I felt I was home in her arms.

Then we kissed, the act that says so much,

Through those lips we conjoined so deeply.

The connection fused, hopes coalesced into a sharp focus.

Causing an airport terminal to shrink to just 2 people,

The rest of the world did not matter for those moments.

From then on it was as if we were under a spell.

I could no more resist her than she could I.

Days blended, hours lost, conversations and meals all melded.

It is these times that make living worthwhile.

When every breath sip and kiss brings you both delight,

We share jokes amongst passion,

Life fuses its most wonderful moments,

A dizzying array of just being ourselves.

Truth, beauty, passion, communication and laughter.

When you tapped me on my shoulder my first thought was why was someone touching me, when I saw that it was you, I just felt this relief that you where there and safe. When we hugged all I could think was yes finally and when we kissed I felt it to my soul. We had such a wonderful time together and I will always cherish the memories. I love you💋

I’m excited, nervous, enjoying that familiar rush, a few minutes early, wearing the white cap that marks me as yours. Breathe. Let go ***, of loss, of rejection, of failing, and savor the excitement of fulfilling.

Scrolling my phone in idle presence pretense, I sense your arrival. In my peripheral, you pause at the other end of the aisle, turn half way (leaving?), then walk slowly towards me. I keep my eyes down. Aroused. At 6 feet you stop, looking at me.

Our eye meet, the full face smiles masked and concentrated into the eyes, two pilgrims hailing well in this desert, desire mutually assured. You move to me, I turn to you, violating the covid sphere for a few seconds, masks averted, and we hug warmly. Our bodies pressing, communicating the somatic in the highest volume, and, as we agreed it would, my hand glides off your waist, over your hip, cups your lips through your black tights, and presses a finger tip, in a moment of intimacy I will always remember.

We part, step back. Our eyes deeply bow, you turn, walking back the way you came, knowing my eyes can not let go of your awesome feminine geometry. I take a breath, close my eyes as you turn out of sight, and reconcile myself to grace and patience as you decide what, if anything, to do with me next.
