Hyper sexual

I’m curious how to keep it under control and know how other people control it

I am not hypsersexual - but I would say that it depends on whether it is causing actual problems for you in your daily life. If so, therapy and one of the 12-step programmes might help getting to terms with it.

I sincerely hope this is received in the friendly way it is intended.

Well I understand that very well but there must be something else 🧚🏻‍♀️

I used to constantly fantasise about sexual fantasies / past experiences, skip out on family meet ups, skip out on work to go and have sex with a partner at the time and I almost got sacked for my attendance.
That was when I realised I had to focus on work & spending time with my family but I sat down and made a plan on how I would tackle the balance between sex and life. I’m in a much better place now and while it was hard for the better part of two years it was worth it.

My answer isn’t really a ‘how to do’ but just based on what I did to help me personally as it was becoming a problem for me in my life. 😊

Try to look into SAA and maybe read the Green Book. You might also have meetings you can attend

I wish I had the answer for you. Whilst I’m still very sexually active I definitely no longer class myself as hypersexual. Plus my life changed quite a bit so I had to adapt 😊

12 step programs are a literal scam and they are so detrimental to mental health and self image.

I’ve been there so to an extent I can sympathise with you and I’m sorry to hear you are struggling so much. I wish I could do more for you but sadly I can’t other than to help give my take on what I’ve done. My inbox is open if you wish to talk 😊

That is your opinion.
Would you also say that psychology is a scam as many of the thoughts within these are an inherent part of the programmes?

The key is that you are acknowledging it, which is the first step on the way to recovery.
It is good to explore different options to find out what works for you as well, but also have people around you with the same experiences that you can talk to - it also helps in seeing that you are not alone with this.

You will find discussions in German on the site, as I believe it is also big in Germany. I have seen some posts in French but I don't think it is popular in France and Canada Francophone
